Guest blog by Maria Angus :: My Mini Abode
As a stylist, you can imagine how exciting it was creating a gorgeous light-filled nursery for my own baby girl, Lola. I wanted to create a warm and whimsical, simple, stunning room for my daughter to enjoy but I also wanted it to grow with her as she gets older.
I adore Scandinavian design, particularly the use of white, neutrals, blonde timbers with pops of colour as the inspiration for Lola’s room.
The main pieces such as the cot, dresser and chair are in neutral tones which allows the wallpaper and accessories to pop for maximum impact. The wallpaper really is the hero of the room!
I’m an Adelady so I’m a big supporter of local Adelaide artists and retailers. I included art by Tania Aliis, vase by Shannon O’Neill, gold shoes by Lapito Footwear as well as locally sourced Tasmanian Oak for the dresser lovingly made by my husband which lends the room a lovely personal touch.
Anything handmade with love, and that also tells a story, always means more than something store bought!
Here is my little Adelaide nursery, handmade with love!
