At nineteen, I’d barely finished Year 12 and was still borrowing petrol money from my parents. At the same age, Leah Brunoli already owned her first hair salon! She’s now 27 and is working on her 8th salon in Adelaide. WTF?

You’d be fair to assume that she’s a super driven business woman and wouldn’t have time for a partner, let alone a family, but again you’d be wrong. She’s also a great wife and amazing mumma bear to her three year old little girl, Pearl.

Leah Brunoli is CEO and Managing Director of Fresh Hair and Body, SA’s premier hair and beauty chain. If you haven’t been to one of her salons, you’ve probably driven past them. And if you ARE driving past, you should definitely pop in.

The Fresh brand was derived from the first Fresh salon, which opened in Salisbury in 2008, when at just 19 years of age Leah made the dream of owning her own salon a reality! See, I told you she was driven. It wasn’t too long before Fresh at Mawson Lakes opened and then BOOM, another 6 in the last few years.

The thing that sets her salons apart, and I think one of the reasons her business is growing so fast, is their point of difference – affordable luxury! And It really is. You can get a full head of foils for under $140. And an amazing blowdry at their Blowdry Station for $35.

Leah has become a business powerhouse, with salons in Mawson Lakes, North Adelaide, Norwood, St Clair, Golden Grove, hyde Park, St Agnes and Munno Para west (opening mid July).

“I don’t believe in franchising out my business, because then Fresh as both clients and staff know it, will be lost.”,  says Leah.

She’s certainly an inspiration to us all so this week we welcome her, with her fabulous hair, as our Inspirational Adelady. These are some of her fave places in Adelaide:

Fave Place to Brunch

I love love love The Topiary Cafe in Tea Tree Gully. I sometimes feel the need to “Treat Yo self” and order myself one of their high tea selections.

Fave Place to Shop

I’m a shopaholic and a sales assistants BFF. I love Karibu Boutique in North Adelaide. I literally walk in there and say “Dress me” and they do! Super friendly and so affordable.

Hidden Gem

My hidden gem has to be Michelle from About Skin Face & Skin (aka Lips by Michelle). Her new clinic is literally a hidden gem located on the parade at Norwood. She has a way with a needle and makes my lips look plump and on point.

Fave Beauty Tip

Mixing 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water as a toner. Its changed my skins life honestly. I have no idea how it works but add it to your skin care regime, you’ll be thanking me.

Words of Wisdom

My Fresh dolls will laugh at this because they know I’m full of wisdom hahah. My number one would have to be go with you gut. If it doesn’t feel right then it likely isn’t. Also to have faith. Faith in yourself and faith in others, you have to believe you can do something in order to reach your goals and do epic shit.
