With a creative journey that has taken her across borders and interstate, her story is as interesting as her name. And by the way, it’s pronounced Ray-ez. Even though it’s taken me a year, I’m proud to say I’ve perfected it.

Reyes kicked off her colourful career working in marketing and PR for fashion/lifestyle brands, before jet-setting around the globe as a sales manager for one of Australia’s premier ski resorts — Mt Buller. But despite her exciting travels, she now has her feet firmly on South Australian soil/sand and we’re so glad she does.

Reyes has a long list of collaborations to her name, working with RUSSH Magazine, MBFWA, Australian Fashion Labels, Oyster Magazine as well as being named one of the faces for last year’s Clinique Flawless campaign – yeah, she’s that kind of girl. Good at everything!

All that jazz is great, but THIS is the reason why Reyes is our Inspirational Adelady this week.

A year ago, Reyes was at a crossroads in her life and career and decided to reinvent herself. She let her curly hair down and made the very scary and bold decision to start her own business in freelance marketing and brand management.  And it was the best decision she’s ever made.

12 months on, she now has a fast-growing list of premium wine and bespoke lifestyle clients both here in SA and interstate, and she’s making her mark bringing people together. That’s what we love about her, she’s all about collaborating, working together to make great brands grow!

Making the decision to be your own boss is as liberating as it is scary and we just love seeing another Adelady take the plunge and fly!

Plus, Reyes is so connected, she knows everyone plus all the cool places to hang in Adelaide, so it makes sense that this week, she’s our Inspirational Adelady! These are her fave places in Adelaide:

FAVE WINERY

I could not possibly pick a favourite winery; that’s like trying to choose a best friend- too many good ones to pick from. We are so lucky in SA – we are absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to gorgeously crafted wines served up in beautiful spaces.

I definitely have a wondering eye when it comes to wine and am constantly varying my tastes and staples depending on my mood or the seasons. But no matter my fickle desire or curious nature, I know I can always pop into East End Cellars or Fall From Grace wine store in Aldinga and speak to Gill – she is a wealth of knowledge and always has something interesting from a small batch producer or intriguing import.

FAVE PLACE FOR A DATE NIGHT

I am not into activities or over the top romance so I am pretty low key when it comes date nights – as long as there is good food, something lovely to drink and I can have a laugh I am a happy lady.

In summer you can’t beat Star of Greece watching the sunset or parked on the beach down at Silver Sands with an esky full of chilled drinks and a picnic. Or if I am city side it would have to be Sean’s Kitchen or Pink Moon Saloon for a good time.

FAVE BAR

There are so many great little bars popping up all over Adelaide – we are so spoilt for choice! I love a cosy nook that you can get lost in so Maybe Mae, Clever Little Tailor and Hains & Co are always winners for me; that being said I can’t say I’ve ever managed to pop in for one quick drink at The Botanic.

Close to home Salopian Inn would have to be my favourite for their fantastic cellar and huge range of gin.

FAVE BREAKFAST CAFE

Breakfast is my type of fun – especially long weekend ones that turn into lunch. Willunga Markets on Saturday morning is my weekend standard; with coffee From Humble Grounds and a fresh baked tasty treat from Four Winds Chocolate. The best part is you can stock up on all the most amazing local produce to take home and whip up something for a lazy Sunday brunch the next day.

Otherwise during the week when I am dashing between meetings it’s Nutrition Republic or Larry & Ladd keeping me in check to get through the daily grind.
