You know those beautiful people who are almost too beautiful to look at? Kate Freebairn is one of those. Luckily though, her beauty is as bleatingly obvious on the inside as well as on the surface!  So yes, we are doubly jealous of her. Kate is the face of Channel Ten Weather and you’ll see her pop up somewhere in Adelaide every weeknight for live weather reports on TEN’s Eyewitness News with Rebecca Morse.

Kate’s an Adelaide girl and completed her Journalism degree at the University of South Australia. Her love of weather also led to her do a course in Meteorology at the Bureau of Meteorology in Melbourne. It took a very special person to replace the wonderful Jane Reilly when she decided to move on, and Kate did it. Seamlessly.

Her style is also on-point. She’s been the Fashion at the Races Ambassador twice and you’ll see by her Instagram that she’s basically the coolest girl you’ll ever meet. She’s also a great wife to husband Peter, who she married at a beautiful ceremony in Port Elliot a few years ago.

When she’s not reporting live crosses on the TV, you’ll find her with sand between her toes. “We have such amazing beaches in Adelaide. I feel so lucky to live on the coast and that I can just walk down for a swim whenever I feel like it! I run on the beach a few times a week and catch up with friends for morning beach walks.”

I’ve known Kate for a long time and she’s as genuine as she is talented. Today, she’s our very special Inspirational Adelady. These are her fave places in Adelaide:

FAVE COFFEE SPOT

C.R.E.A.M on Jetty Road at Brighton! I’m there every weekend and can’t get enough. The best coffee and breakfasts by the beach in Adelaide. I’m obsessed with the avocado and feta smash.

FAVE SPOT IN THE CBD

The East End is my favourite part of the city. Most days I’m around around Rundle Street and Ebenezer Place for some reason.. whether it’s for barre class, coffees at Penny University, or picking up bunches of flowers at the East End Flower Market. My go-to spots for gifts are Bauhaus and Council of Objects.

FAVE WEEKEND GETAWAY DESTINATION

My ideal way to wind down on a weekend is by driving down the coast to Port Elliot. Lazy days on the beach at Horseshoe Bay with a good book, icecreams from Flying Fish café, lunch stops at the Port Elliot Bakery and wandering the cute shops in the main street.

FAVE PLACE TO HAVE A DRINK

Give me a glass of wine in the sun with my best friends and I’m in heaven. My all time favourite spot for a drink is the rooftop at 2KW. The best view in Adelaide by a million! I’m also a big fan of drinks under the vines at Mothervine in the East End.

FAVE SA FASHION DESIGNER

My latest find is Vege Threads. They’re making the best tanks and easy to wear summer dresses in eco cotton, throwing them on with white sneakers is my go to on weekends. For my on-air wardrobe, I love TY-LRCmeo Collective and Keepsake.

FAVE SPOT TO WORKOUT

I’m addicted to barre. If you haven’t heard of it yet .. you need to! It’s a ballet/yoga style exercise class that the Victoria’s Secret girls use to tone up. Say no more! I’m an ambassador for Aleenta Barre – you’ll find me at their beautiful studio on Rundle Street a few mornings a week.
