DECOR

I love a café that’s nestled in the thick of suburbia. Especially an attractive, leafy suburb like Dulwich. Corner Store Cafe has 3 options for dining; inside, along the side street or in their enclosed garden area out the back. The 3rd option is best for kids. Their staff are super friendly and the owners Paul and Makeeley are always happy to assist you with prams and/or highchairs or anything you need. They are wonderful people! Their colourful flowers (that they change every Thursday) and amazing vertical plant wall, make for a perfect Instagram shot.

FOOD

It’s one of those places where I’ve tried everything on the menu and still can’t decide which dish is my fave. I suggest you order the pear pancakes and your date orders the Mega Corner Store Breakfast, with spinach (and then share)! If you’re a coffee and cake kind of person, then you’ll also have trouble choosing which cake to indulge in. They’re ALL mouthwatering!

KID-FREINDLY?

The back area is probably the best spot for cheeky monkeys, as they can’t escape! There’s room for highchairs inside, but probably too tight for prams. I’d say on a weekend, 60% of tables have kids, so you won’t feel like everyone’s looking at you, wondering why the hell you brought a child to a restaurant. It’s a safe space for parents and kids.
