All right, let’s get crazy! This is one of the most exhilarating and fun things you can experience in Adelaide. This year, South Aussies don’t just have to admire Adelaide Oval from afar, we can climb it! All the way to the very top.

You can get amongst Adelaide Oval’s unique roofline during the day and enjoy beautiful views of our awesome city.  Or, if you want to be extra romantic, try the twilight walk, and watch the sunset over Adelaide Oval from above. I did consider popping the question to Lauren when we were up the top, but then I remembered, I’m already married.

So we did it – we got dressed up in our super cool blue suits, heard our leader say, “Adelady to Bat Cave” (whatever that meant) and we were off! We climbed to base camp, aka the top of Adelaide Oval. We got to see the most amazing view of Adelaide – man it’s pretty! Expect a stomach full of butterflies and a weird temptation to yell, “Coooweeee” at the top of your lungs when you reach the top.

The good news is, it’s not like a bridge climb where you’re often too puffed out to take in the scenery – it’s very low impact.

Make sure you’re sober though. Warning – they do breath test you before climbing, for obvious reasons.

Warning 2: You’ll leave a little smarter than you were when you arrived. It’s not just a climb; you take in history and some awesome facts about Adelaide you probably didn’t know.

And the best part is – you can actually climb it on a Port home-game day! Imagine sitting up in the nosebleed section getting a bird’s-eye view of Adelaide Oval while cheering on the teams below. I can hear my dad yelling at me now, “Get me that for Father’s day.” it beats socks and undies any day,

You can do the Commonwealth Bank RoofClimb Adelaide Oval with a group of friends, your lover, or just by yourself and make friends along the way.

Get crazy and try it yourself, it’s seriously, the most fun thing to do in Adelaide! Well, one of them anyway!

Book tickets or grab a voucher here.
