What’s not to love about springtime; the evenings become longer, the mornings lighter, the sun begins to warm your bones and the promise of summer lingers in the air. Spring brings with it a transition phase; blooms of vibrant colour bursting into life, while people, pets and wildlife shake off the remnants of winter hibernation and embrace the outdoors once again.
With the change of season, the Cellar Doors around our wine loving state also come to life with offerings of new release wines and sunny nooks to meander in.
Here are some at the top of our list to wander through this Spring:
S.C. Pannell Wines – McLaren Vale

Pull up at a table on the sprawling balcony or spread out a picnic rug on their lush lawns; either way you’re sure to get a stunning view! While you are there be sure to try their brand new release Amuse white blend; perfect for sunny day sipping.
Battle Of Bosworth – McLaren Vale

With an entire range titled Spring Seeds; how could this quaint Cellar Door not make the list!? Exuding English cottage charm, this small cellar door may only fit a few in the tasting room but it’s blossoming garden is where you’ll want to bask in after sampling their range of all organic wine.
Lino Ramble – Port Noarlunga

Not usually the place where you would expect to find a Cellar Door, but that is the best thing about this secret little hideaway by the coast. After you’ve strolled the Pt Noarlunga Jetty, it’s the perfect time to stop for an afternoon vino. Make your way to Noddy’s Emporium and find your way through it’s rabbit warren of rooms only to pop out in the shady Lino Ramble courtyard where you will find the friendliest host and a great range of interesting wines.
Lazy Ballerina – Dingabledinga

Lazy afternoons are just what this Cellar Door was made for! Located just near Kuitpo Forest and boasting a large garden with plenty of shade and seating it’s easy to spend the whole afternoon here. They are family and pet friendly and also offer a menu of local nibbles to create your own platter or enjoy a pizza for something more substantial.
Yelland & Papps – Barossa Valley

Certainly one of the best-kept secrets around! This family owned and operated Cellar Door was built with the dream to create their own little slice of heaven – and they have done just that! You’ll be made to feel right at home here as they take you through their delicious range of wines. Perched at tables under the shady porch or kicking back on beanbags out on the lawns, enjoy your wine with one of their signature, ever changing platters.

I agree wholeheartedly with your recommendation of Yelland & Papps. We visited, from N.S.W., nearly a year ago and where fell in love with the people and the wine. A great place to spend a very pleasant few hours. The different blends of are a revelation.
