The email that stood out to us like dog's balls

Once upon a time… we met Laura.

Isn’t it weird when you meet someone as an adult and even though you’ve only known them a short time, that person feels like “home”? That’s what Laura is. She’s an old (really OLD) “school friend” that we’ve only just met.

We get lots of emails to Adelady, which is awesome, but one particular email stood out about 14 months ago. Partly because the spelling was atrocious, but mainly because it made us LOL. Something told us to write back to this particular email and suss out this person who made us smile.

It was love at first hug and after six months of interning, she became our first employee. Laura is Adelady #3 and we can’t thank her enough for writing to us.

This is just a little example of how important it is to stand out like dogs ball’s and be 100% YOU. And if you want something, reach out and get it — like Laura did!

We adore her.

“Dear Haley and Lauren,

I wanted to send a short video but I thought of that kind off creepy so I’ve resorted to the old fashion way letter, pen and paper. Sorry an email!

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself as crazy cat behind Pieces Of Me. I’m a huge advocate in promoting South Australia in anyway that I can. Food, Coffee, Fashion and Travel. I’m one of those weirdoes that don’t actually drink so you wont see too many Barossa vineyard posts of the latest Sauvignon, but id be promoting the gorgeous views it has to offer.

I love what you girls are doing and I get the feeling you two are rocking well enough without any thirdwheels. But I just had to express my interest that if you ever need a side kick, intern, lacky, coffee runner, extra spirit finger dancer to keep me in mind. Interview me over coffee and find out how I stubble over my words when I’m meeting fellow instagramers for the first time. I’ll attempt to wear my Sunday best clothes, which means the cleanest item I can find that my 6 year old and 4 year old have yet to spoil with breakfast splatter.
