Yesterday, I had my Acupuncture appointment. My third appointment over four weeks. With my three kids, family and work, I don’t often get the chance to stop and take things in and acknowledge change.

Yesterday at my appointment, I did. I realised over the last week I hadn’t wet my pants whilst laughing, coughing or dancing. My vagina finally had a little spark!

I think, for the first time since having my three beautiful children, that I am starting to actually feel horny again! I know this is confronting for some, but here at Adelady, we wear our hearts on our chests and after having kids, it felt like my vagina had zero soul left.

Yep, I’m talking about woman’s issues…downstairs. Many of us have these. Most, after having children. I had three boys relatively close together and all with massive heads… like giant! And yes, all natural.

Over time I started to experience prolapse which worsened quite quickly.  Let’s just say I was in situations which no 36 year old woman should have to endure. This led to prolapse surgery two years ago. My periods and pelvic pain worsened after surgery which led me to trying different pills (which all sent me even more bat shit crazy) and then finally trying the Merina.

After months of persevering, the Merina only made my periods longer and heavier so I’ve decided to get it removed.

While at the doctors, chatting about my downstairs region, I was also worried about my neck. I’d put it out after watching Fifty Shades of Grey. No, it wasn’t brought on by a crazy red room sex act! I was referred to an Acupuncture therapist and started seeing her to help my neck when she asked me, “Is there anything else I can work on”? To which I replied, “How long have you got?”

Prolapse returning, zero sex drive (and my husband is super handsome!), pelvic pain, pain during intercourse, anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, no energy, the list goes on.

She then got to work, and to my amazement it’s bloody working!!

We all want quick fixes. But all that is doing is putting a bandaid on the problem. It’s not getting to the root of the issues (no pun intended). I have found that a few sessions of Acupuncture has really helped me!

After all my kids, I suffered post-natal depression and am still on medication because of it… but I can honestly say since starting my Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine journey (I say journey as I can see myself continuing this and also taking my kids and husband there) that I feel more centred, calm, and yes, more horny!

We all need to get back to the basics. I urge you to sit down, have a cuppa (or spritz) and have a think about it. I’m so glad my 50 Shades of crook neck led me down this path.

Next, I’m trying the anti-ageing Acupuncture treatment… how freaking amazing is that?!

    Hi Dinah,
Yes acupuncture is great for many things, so happy to hear you got help with prolapse.
My mum was actually treated for it with acupuncture after having it for such a long time and so pleased with result. She went to a very experienced acupuncturist at Gilberton David Schievenin based at Rose Family Chiropractic. I have also been treated by him for chronic injury, digestive issues and depression resulting from my injury.
