The great Australian summer holiday is right at your fingertips.

Whether your heart draws you to the sound of the ocean, the smell of the vines, the fun of the river or the hillbilly life, Discovery Parks has a site to suit your taste.

From deluxe multi-bedroom houses to standard cabins, safari tents and powered sites, you can level up or level down at any of their eleven sites in SA, depending on your holiday budget. Wherever you end up resting your head, you can sleep easy knowing that you get to enjoy the same wonderful facilities as everyone else.

There’s no better time to explore what’s right under our noses, and Discovery Parks all over the country are adding more and more memorable experiences to their parks, making them the ultimate travel destination for young families, couples and golden oldies. “We want to create lasting memories for our guests. Whether it’s their first time in a Discovery Park or their one-hundredth, we’re about helping people to ‘Discover What Matters’ through the ultimate family holiday,” said Matt Lang, Chief Operations Officer.

The perks of the parks…

GOOLWA

They don’t call the Fleurieu Peninsula ‘SA’s adventure playground’ for nothing! Discovery Parks – Goolwa is the perfect spot to base yourself for the most epic family holiday. You can drive onto the beach, explore the Coorong National Park and see where Storm Boy was filmed, play basketball on their half-court and take a trip to Victor Harbor and back on the famous Cockle Train. But this park is about to get even more speccy, with 23 brand new modern deluxe two-bedroom cabins popping up this summer, all with fully-equipped kitchens and private decks. There will be a stateof-the-art splash park, a resort-style outdoor swimming pool, a jumping pillow, entertainment area and even an interactive nature playground. Guests will also have easy access to the nearby BMX and pump tracks, the Goolwa skatepark and basketball stadium. According to my kids, this is better than Disneyland!

ADELAIDE BEACHFRONT

Right on the foreshore of Semaphore Beach, you can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean and wake up to the smell of a great brekky just a short walk away. Location is everything for this holiday hotspot with maritime, railway and aviation museums, cafés and funky boutiques, all close by. This pet-friendly park ticks all the boxes with a playground, bouncing pillow, activity room and swimming pool.

ROBE

Robe is well worth the road trip! Get adventurous and try four-wheel driving through Little Dip National Park, learn to surf and, of course, beeline to Victoria Street for a spot of shopping. Discovery Parks – Robe is right opposite Long Beach where you can hire beach equipment, go nuts in the nature playground and enjoy their indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools.

STREAKY BAY FORESHORE

Set on the beach along one of Australia’s premier seafood coastlines, Discovery Parks – Streaky Bay Foreshore is a wonderland, especially if you love fishing! Your outdoor adventure begins with sand boarding down Yanerbie Beach sand dunes and then spotting Australia’s only permanent sea lion colony at Point Labatt. With peddle carts for hire, a bouncing pillow and activity room, the kids are sorted.

WHYALLA FORESHORE

Sunny for 300 days a year, Discovery Parks – Whyalla Foreshore has uninterrupted views of the beautiful Spencer Gulf and is super close to swimming beaches and excellent fishing spots. Spend a morning playing mini golf, or hire a kayak or paddle-board and then enjoy a history lesson with a tour at Whyalla Maritime Museum.

LAKE BONNEY

At Discovery Parks – Lake Bonney, you can spend your days swimming, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, waterskiing, boating, fishing and then relaxing in your cabin or powered site. There are also 17 national parks and numerous wineries dotted around the region, so you can soak up the best of the Riverland during your stay. Summer sorted!
