We adore our fine city of Adelaide, and we love being tourists in our own town.
There’s nothing better than spending a night or two in the city to really soak it all in. Whether it’s a special occasion, a mid-week rendezvous, a girls’ night out or a romantic weekend, we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to city hotels.
We road-tested four of the hottest spots for an overnight fling in town, and here’s what we found…

Crowne Plaza Adelaide
Oh my, what a view! Perched high above Frome Street, with views for days across the city and the Adelaide Hills, is the Crowne Plaza Adelaide. The hotel rooms are modern and well-equipped — and the higher up you stay, the better the view! But no matter which room you stay in, every guest can take in the scenery from the stunning floor to ceiling windows on the tenth floor where you’ll find Luna10, Adelaide’s highest poolside bar and cocktail lounge. When the weather is fine, the pool deck is the place to be seen — but as winter approaches, you can cosy up on a plush couch in the cocktail lounge, with a martini in hand instead. And when your belly starts to rumble, step into Koomo, an Asian fusion restaurant with an Art Deco design and a view like no other.

HotelMOTEL Adelaide
Did someone say party time? We all like a big night out on the town every now and then, but taking taxis to and from the city can be painful… which makes it the perfect opportunity to book a little overnighter at HotelMOTEL Adelaide instead!This property is a modern twist on the retro-style motel and offers comfortable, stylish accommodation on South Terrace. The rooms are decked out in matte black with navy and terracotta accents, and have all the creature comforts you need after a big night on the town, like plush beds, private ensuites, air- con and large smart TVs. Oh, and with free parking right on your doorstep, you can drive on up and boogie on down. This place is screaming “girls’ weekend” and we’re here for it!

Hilton Adelaide
One destination — that pretty much sums up the Hilton Adelaide. If you’re looking for one spot to eat, sleep, relax and explore, we’ve found it! The Hilton is perfectly located overlooking Victoria Square, with Chinatown and Adelaide Central Market just a short stroll away. The rooms are spacious, and the food and beverage options are aplenty. Coal Cellar + Grill plates up some of the best steak and seafood in town, The Wine Cellar houses over 2,000 wines to tantalise your tastebuds, and The Collins Bar is our fave spot for a cheeky cocktail or two. When you’ve had your fill, you can head to the state-of-the-art gym to work it all off. See? There’s really no need to leave the hotel!

The Playford
Lovebirds, listen up… this newly renovated gem in the heart of the city is the perfect spot for a couple’s getaway. The Art Nouveau styling throughout the entire hotel gives you the feeling that you could be somewhere in Europe, rather than right on North Terrace. Dial up the romance in their luxe, New York style loft suites and gaze lovingly at your significant other across the table in the new Luma Restaurant and Bar. The restaurant recently opened to rave reviews and has already been awarded a Chef Hat by the Australian Good Food Guide. When you wake feeling all loved up, be sure to pop downstairs for something sweet from the pastry cabinet at Luma, made fresh by their pastry chef on site every day. LOVE!
