Kangaroo Island. WOW. You blew our mind. We’ve basically lived in South Australia all our life and never been to the magical island that is KI! If you’re like us, GO! It’s beautiful, fun, relaxing and full of adventure — all wrapped into one awesome holiday destination.
RAA have great SA Holiday Experiences so you can book everything in the one place and have all your experiences and accommodation sorted. We put together the RAA Adelady KI Hop!
Hop over and experience it for yourself! Here is our itinerary…
Swimming with dolphins ::
KI has some of the best beaches in the world. Crystal clear water and pristine sand. There’s also beautiful Dolphins EVERYWHERE. We jumped onboard KI Marine Adventures boat, just out of Kingscote and skipper, Andrew kicked off our dolphin adventure!
Wetsuits are a must and supplied by the team at KI Marine Adventures. In about 20 minutes, you’re in the middle of the ocean and like a movie, pods of dolphins appear from everywhere. It’s SO magical! You can either admire the beautiful creatures from the boat (if you’re a little scared like Hayley) OR get in the water and get amongst them, like I did!
Sand boarding with Outdoor Action ::
Adrenalin junkies – this one is for you! On the road to Seal Bay are a couple of cheeky GIANT dunes. This is where you go to to get some outdoor action… Legit. The company is called Outdoor Action and it’s so much fun! The walk up the dunes is tough on the old legs, but worth every step.
Kangaroo Island Seafront Resort ::
The apartments are right on the waterfront, over looking the bay of Penneshaw. The rooms are super comfortable, with giant beds and a hot shower, which after swimming with dolphins is something everyone needs. You can enjoy a full buffet breakfast and only a few metres from the Penneshaw pub – these apartments are in prime position!
Hidden gem ::
You must take the time to drive to Zest and Thyme Cafe. I don’t even have to tell you why, this photo tells a thousand words.
