How to make the magic happen
- Protect – Place a drop sheet on the exposed exterior of the entryway to protect the surface from any spills.
- Clean – Use the sugar soap wipes and painter’s rags to wipe down the surface of the door that will be painted.
- Repair and remove – Remove all loose and unstable paint from the surface of the door, and then sand back any of the repaired or loose paint areas.
- Clean (again!) – Use the sugar soap wipes and painter’s rags to wipe down the surface of the door once again, to remove any fine dust. Then dry wipe the door to make sure there is no moisture.
- Tape – Apply painter’s tape around the edges of the door, to protect any areas from the overspread of paint.
- Stir the paint – Stir the paint fully for three minutes, before pouring into a paint tray or brush cup.
- Undercoat – Paint all areas with one coat of a primer. Leave to dry between coats (refer to the back of the individual can for specific drying times).
- Topcoat – Apply two coats of the coloured top coat, leaving time to dry between each coat (refer to the back of the individual can for specific drying times).
- Clean up – Remove painter’s tape once fully dry, and pack away all materials and drop sheets (be careful of any paint globs that might have fallen and are still wet).
