It’s showtime, baby!

And by that, we’re of course referring to the Royal Adelaide Show, which is back for 2024 starting TODAY!

Of course we all love to fill ourselves with dagwood dogs, ride the ferris wheel until we’re busy, and go nuts in the show bag hall. But, we also get it… the Show can be an expensive exercise for families. So our team has put our heads together to share some of our top tips for getting the most out of the show — without breaking the bank.

You (and your wallets) are welcome, folks!

1. Sample all the free tastings in the Taste SA Pavilion, then round it out with a dessert of ice cream, cheese and flavoured milk in the dairy shed.

2. Check out the clever pooches at the Dog Agility and Jumping Trials

3. Get your blood pumping while watching the Airtime FMX – Freestyle Motorcross in the Main Arena

4. Come see US (Hayley and Lauren!) in the Celebrity Cake Decorating Competition (4th September at 4pm). We’re SA’s answer to Martha Stewart, we swear!

5. Get your meditation in with the soothing thump-thump-thump of the woodchopping events

6. We can’t handle the cuteness! Hold a baby chicken in the Poultry, Pigeon, and Egg Pavilion.

7. Experience something brand new, by taking a spin in the flight simulator at the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) stand in the Jubilee Pavilion

8. Horses bring some excitement, with the HLS Trick Riding Team showing off their skills in the Nightshift Program.

9. Catch one of the MANY shows that will be popping up on both Goyder and Boulevard Stage.

And one final hot tip — book your tickets in advance at your local Foodland store! They’re cheaper pre-event, and it means you avoid the hassle of waiting in line, when all you want to do is seek out the fairy floss.

These are our favourite free activities, BUT you can also find some more inspo HERE!!

It’s one of the best times of the year in SA. Embrace it, Pineapples!

xx
