It doesn’t take much to fall head over heels in love with Brockenchack Wines.

Brockenchack is a boutique family winery named after owners Trevor and Marilyn Harch’s four grandchildren — BROnte, MaCKENzie, CHArli and JaCK. And that says it all!

Trev is an honest family man first and a wine enthusiast second. After many years of ‘research’, Trev came to the conclusion that there really is no other wine that tastes as good as a Barossa Shiraz! So, he decided to make some himself.

His first vintage in 2008 was a small 37-dozen Jack Harrison Shiraz — just to see what it tasted like. Much to Trev’s excitement, the exceptional quality of the wine spoke for itself and from there, he hasn’t looked back.

Today, they own 302 acres of land in the magnificent Eden Valley, with 41 acres covered in vines. Depending on the time of year, you may catch the vineyard dressed in burnt orange and flame red leaves, joyful yellow tones, or lush and green in spring. It really doesn’t matter when you visit, the Brockenchack landscape looks like an oil painting.

And their wines are just as exquisite. “We believe in creating wines that are honest, inviting and highlight the best of this unique region we call home. Eden Valley wines are distinctive in their character, displaying wonderful aromatics, elegance, complexity and finesse. Our wines are crafted to share with family and friends throughout life’s many circumstances,” says Trev.

With the grandkids now adults, they’re all involved in the business in some way and I have a sneaking suspicion that Trev will never retire. Why would you when you’re living the dream?

And it’s so much more than just wine now, too…

Imagine a weekend away with your favourites, staying in gorgeous accommodation, wrapped up in total luxury — somewhere surrounded by vines, with utter privacy and sensational views. Welcome to Brockenchack B&Bs! Tucked away in the Eden Valley ranges, the three Brockenchack B&Bs offer something totally unique. “Our B&Bs are a place where tranquillity and country living meet modern luxury,” says Marilyn. And trust me, these three gems are all uniquely exquisite.

The Retreat B&B has WOW-factor written all over it! Sleeping up to six adults and two children, this newly-renovated retreat offers three spacious bedrooms; a massive open-plan kitchen that brings the outside in; and overlooks expansive views across the valley. With a divine continental breakfast, barbecue, fire pit and two gorgeous outdoor baths and showers, this jewel is magical all year round.

This open-plan studio has a country charm with a king-size bed and views overlooking the valley. Filled with natural light, it also features an indoor and outdoor fireplace for a cosy winter stay! Once inside, you won’t want to leave.

The Vineyard B&B is like a warm hug. Perfect for two couples, this gem sleeps four people with two king-sized master suites, a beautiful country-style kitchen and dining area with wood fireplaces. The wrap-around verandah will tickle you pink as you immerse yourself in a 360-degree view of vines. If you want to turn up the heat, there’s also a hot tub outside! Imagine soaking in the spa with a glass of Brockenchack in hand. So, the moral of the Brockenchack story? If you want your friends and family to wear a smile just as big as yours, simply pour them a glass or book a weekend away at Brockenchack Wines.
