Auburn is more than a stop on your way to somewhere else — it’s a destination in its own right!

With its perfect combo of history, charm and tasty eats, this cute town just 90 minutes from Adelaide is ready to welcome you with open arms and a glass of something delicious.

Here’s why Auburn should be at the top of your travel list:

Sip, savour and shop

Start your Auburn adventure at Main 23, a new collective that combines a distillery, cellar door and gift shop all under one roof. And don’t miss out on pizza every Friday to Sunday, because nothing pairs better with a local vino than a slice of woodfired heaven. Room 21 has also just opened in the heart of Auburn, bringing you brunch, lunch, homewares, gifts and a home for small producers.

Retail therapy

If you love shopping as much as we do, you’re in luck. Felicity’s is the new artistic hotspot, showcasing the vibrant works of local artists — plus, they serve gelato and coffee! Just down the road, Sassy Lass Boutique has opened its second store… girls’ trip, anyone?

Time to tee off

Recently reopened, this charming course offers 18 holes of pure (mini) fun! It’ll let you add a little friendly competition to your day, plus it’s a great excuse to get outside and enjoy the fresh Auburn air.

Sip sip hooray!

No trip to Auburn would be complete without visiting its wineries. Auburn is home to some of South Australia’s most celebrated vineyards, including Wines by KT, Velvet & Willow, Mount Horrocks, Grosset Wines and Taylors Wines — who have recently opened a brand- new cellar door. With a modern yet cosy vibe, the new Taylors Wines is the perfect place to taste their latest vintages while taking in the views of the surrounding vineyards. It’s easy to spend an entire day (or two) just sipping your way through the region. Oh and to make life even easier, the Riesling Trail passes right through the town connecting to the Rattler Trail.

Maybe it’s time to pack your bags and head to Auburn for your next weekend getaway? You’ll leave with a full heart, a full stomach and perhaps a bottle or two to remember the trip by.
