Julie has been a Dispensary Technician at Star Discount Chemist Hollywood for nine and a half years and she’s a proud member of what she calls the ‘Hollywood family’. “We have a great culture here — we’re not just workmates, we’re family.”
She is loved and adored in her community, which shows by winning the 2024 Staff Support Award! But her impact doesn’t stop there. “I’m known as the workplace ‘mama’ and ‘Queen B’ (barista) because of the countless cups of tea and coffee I make daily.” On top of that, she speaks Arabic, making her an invaluable interpreter for the community members who speak the language.

Since 2022, Shuyuan has been a pharmacist at Star Discount Chemist Prospect and she wouldn’t have it any other way. “The Prospect community is by far the best I have worked with. Everyone is so friendly, kindhearted and happy to see me for a chat,” she says. “It feels so rewarding and I love it here!”
For Shuyuan, her role is so much bigger than being a pharmacist — it’s also about being a trusted advisor. “I have the direct ability to impact patients’ health and wellbeing by providing medication advice. It’s something I truly value.”

Richard’s passion for healthcare started when he was young. “I always admired people in the industry because my family members were constantly sick. I wanted to help people the way healthcare professionals helped my loved ones,” he says.
Building strong relationships is at the core of what he loves about his role. “I’ve built relationships with people from different backgrounds and I’ve learned so much from their experiences,” he shares. “It’s exceptionally rewarding when I see customers’ health improve, knowing that our advice made a meaningful impact.”

With over 30 years in retail management, Julie has seen it all — but her passion for her role is as strong as ever. “I love the culture here. There’s great leadership, clear goals and an open-door policy that makes sharing ideas easy,” she says.
