Now, back to Bintan…
Three weeks ago, we packed our bags, rounded up the kids, and brought along the grandparents for the ultimate multigenerational adventure at Club Med Bintan.
Spoiler alert: it was the best holiday everrrrrrr!
Here are five reasons why Club Med Bintan is the perfect destination for a multigenerational getaway.

1. Fun for all ages!
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Club Med Bintan has something for everyone.
My boys (12 and 9) spent their days hopping between the pools and the beach and putting their hand up for all the watersport fun. Aqua aerobics, water polo, kayaking — there were endless adventures to be had.
Kids can spend their days doing treasure hunts, arts and crafts, pool games and the famous Club Med trapeze all under the watchful eyes of the amazing G.Os. Sofia’s sad puppy dog eyes at having to leave the Kid’s Club gives you an idea of just how fun it is.
For the adults, between all the family fun and beach sessions, we soaked up the stunning ocean views, lazed about on the pool lounges, and fully embraced the all-inclusive bar serving delicious coffees, cocktails and mocktails all day — it was the perfect spot to unwind.
And then there is the Club Med Spa by L’Occitane, which was frequented by yours truly at least four times in the five days!
If you know Club Med then you know that their nightly entertainment is next level. From family-friendly shows to interactive dance parties, the evenings were a perfect blend of laughter and excitement. Especially from Lauren’s 76 year old dad Dino, the life of the party!
2. All-inclusive bliss
Food is a big part of any holiday, and if your kids are anything like mine, they have bottomless stomachs so the idea of a daily buffet is the actual dream.
The all-inclusive dining options meant we could indulge in a bunch of different cuisines for brekky, lunch and dinner!
And let’s not forget the delicious desserts that had us all coming back for seconds (or thirds if you’re my nine-year-old Alfie!).
3. Forever memories
What made this holiday truly special was the quality time we all spent together with our fam-bams. Switching off for us is tricky but feeling sooooo far away from work made it much easier to forget about normal life.
Watching our parents playing and laughing with our children with Bintan as the backdrop is now beautifully etched into our memories.
4. So far, yet so close.
Okay let’s be honest, planning a holiday for multiple generations can be a bit full on, but our besties at Phil Hoffmann Travel made it effortless. They did everything for us so all we had to do was get on the plane. Hallelujah!
Now, where is Bintan exactly?
Bintan is an Indonesian Island and getting there is super easy — it’s six hours direct from Adelaide to Singapore. Then you’ll jump on the ferry to the island and the Club Med transfer will collect you from there — and the next time you see your bags will be in your gorgeous room.
Btw, we had interconnecting rooms, which was fab when you’re travelling with kids and grandies. And yes the doors between the rooms are lockable!
5. Club Med, hooked
Holding onto that feeling of pure joy that you only get to experience when you’re on holidays, we came up with a grand plan to do it all again, every year!
If you’re umming and ahhing about taking the whole family away or maybe putting it off for another couple of years… don’t. You never know what’s around the corner and while everyone is healthy and able, make those memories! You’ll never forget going on a holiday, you’ll only regret not going.
