We’ve just returned from a magical trip to Fiji and everyone has been asking us to share our itinerary… so settle in with a cuppa as we take you to paradise!

The Journey

Fiji is only 5 hours away on a direct flight from Adelaide with Fiji Airways, which operates twice weekly. When you take off, you leave all your troubles behind and arrive in paradise the same day! True Fijian hospitality starts the moment you board the flight, with lots of happy smiles and greetings of BULA! Plus, there’s great inflight entertainment on board to keep you occupied all the way to Nadi – Fiji’s main airport.

On arrival

Getting through Nadi airport is easy – just make sure you have all your documents ready to present to immigration and customs, and you will be on your way to your destination without any hassle at all.

Hilton Fiji Resort & Spa

We checked into the resort at night, so we didn’t see much of it until the morning… but my gosh, when we opened the curtains upon waking, we were blown away by the view. Our Deluxe Beachfront Suites faced right onto the waterfront – stunning! There are two distinct parts of the resort – one area is catered perfectly to families, and the other side of the resort is reserved just for the adults. No matter where you stay, you’ll be well looked after with delicious dining options, fabulous Fijian hospitality and accommodation that caters to every need.

A Day Out in Nadi

Venturing out of your resort is easy and we absolutely recommend it – it was a highlight of our trip! We booked a day trip to visit the markets in Nadi and a local Fijian Village. When we arrived at the markets we were greeted with rows and rows of fresh fruit and vegetables… and of course, smiling Fijian faces. The market delivers vibrant colours and a taste of true local culture.

With fresh pineapples on board, we made our way to one of the oldest traditional villages in Fiji. We were welcomed with a kava ceremony conducted by the Chief of the village, warm hugs from the ladies, and high fives and friendly smiles from the kids. Just when we thought our hearts couldn’t get any bigger, our beautiful village host Caleb took us to his Church and broke out in song – Amazing Grace. We were blown away by his generosity of spirit and his soulful voice. This is the real Fiji.

Malamala Beach Club

Imagine an exclusive island, beach cabanas, crystal clear waters, soft white sand, an infinity pool, cocktails, great food and cool tunes – that pretty much sums up the Malamala Beach Club vibe. It’s the world’s first beach club located on its very own island and it’s only 25 minutes by boat from Port Denarau. This is a great way to spend the day and if you’re planning a special occasion, they also do fabulous events!

Tivua Island Day Trip

If snorkelling and kayaking is your thing, then a trip to Tivua Island is a must. The island is fringed with white sand and gorgeous turquoise water, and surrounded by 500 acres of reef, so it’s the perfect base for exploring the underwater marine life of Fiji. Or you could just kick back and enjoy the all-inclusive food and open bar. Yes please! And the best way to get there is on a Captain Cook Day Cruise!

Lomani Island Resort

What an end to our trip! This resort allows you to completely disconnect from the real world if you choose and immerse yourself in Fijian island life. Lomani Island Resort is an adult only, barefoot luxury resort that truly lives up to its reputation. Beachfront suites with private pools, incredible sunsets, attentive service and all the good food and wine you could ever ask for is right here on this little slice of paradise. Spend your days sipping cocktails by the pool, treat yourself to a massage, enjoy a magical sunset experience of beanbags and bubbles on the beach, or go snorkeling right off the shore, where fish are literally jumping out of the water to say hello. This place is heaven!

Sandbar Lunch

The amazing team at Lomani Island Resort really dialled up the wow factor when they suggested lunch on a sandbar off the coast of the island. Picture a pristine white sandbar, beanbags under an umbrella and a delicious picnic lunch complete with bubbles. They can also organise water sports and snorkelling equipment – it’s a truly unforgettable experience.

Our itinerary in Fiji was jam-packed full of amazing experiences, but our hearts were bursting with joy in all the moments in between. The real essence of Fiji is its people – they are so full of happiness and everywhere we went we were greeted with warm smiles. If you are looking for a holiday to reignite your happiness, this is it. Everything you need to know is right over here 👈 !
