It’s new, it’s shiny and it’s absolutely diiii-vine!

With the sea to your left and vines to your right, Divine Domes McLaren Vale offers four five-star luxurious bed and brekky glamping tents with all the frills. The location couldn’t be better, as you have perfect views of Oliver’s Taranga and the world-famous d’Arenberg Cube on the horizon.

The first of their kind in South Australia, the domes are architectural marvels, which have been designed to blend nature and comfort, seamlessly. They’re all super spacious and have been styled to perfection with fancy king beds, mini kitchens and magnificent bathrooms. And all four domes have a clawfoot outdoor bath! Can you imagine?

The magic really begins when the sun goes down. Each dome features a transparent ceiling, where you can look up to the starry sky from the comfort of your warm bed, or even from the shower.

If you’re thinking, who are the deadset legends that brought these domes to Adelaide? Husband and wife owners Tom and Annamieke Wilds made the move from Brissy after falling in love with our gorgeous state a couple of years ago.

“People thought we were crazy moving states at our age, but we’re so happy we did it and now all our friends and family want to move here, too,” says Annamieke.

The pair always wanted to have a quirky accommodation and now they’ve made that dream come true in the heart of one of Australia’s most popular wine regions — it’s the icing on the cake!

Highschool sweethearts Tom and Annamieke believe life is meant to be enjoyed. “It’s about escaping the ordinary and detaching from the everyday grind. Get naked in the bath, enjoy a glass of wine, put a fire on and have a good time — that’s our idea of heaven,” says Annamieke.

Their warm personalities and passion for design really come through in the accommodation, having both designed two of the interiors themselves.

So let’s do a reccy mission to each of the domes…

WILD PEACOCK

Their only all-accessible dome with wide doorways, soft furnishings, adjustable bed and the most stylish bathroom you’ll ever see. Baz Luhrmann’s wife, Catherine Martin, designed the stand-out wallpaper, which makes this dome extra cool!

MARRAKESH

This dome embodies the true Moroccan spirit and is like something straight out of Casablanca! “We searched far and wide all over SA for authentic Moroccan antiques — we even have a leather piece of art on the wall from a tribesman in the Sahara,” says Annamieke. “You can cosy up next to the fire or sit out on your deck and just be at one with nature.”

LONGHORN

This dome has a real South American feel to it, with Texas Longhorns on the wall, cowhide-covered chairs, Native American rugs on the floor and cacti to finish it off. This one will have you dreaming of chicken-fried steak and ranch dressing.

WILD SPIRIT

Well, this one has Adelady written all over it! It’s colourful, boho inspired and has a relaxing feminine feel to it. You can just imagine waking up in the morning, looking out to the gorgeous vines while your better half brings you a latte in bed.

When you’re staying at Divine Domes McLaren Vale, you’ll probably spend a fair chunk of time in their thoughtfully designed old-timey barn. “Our barn has been lovingly built to create an earthy and rustic space where our guests can come enjoy a drink and a platter, make a wood oven pizza, or fire up the barbie — and it’s happy hour every Friday and Saturday night,” says Annamieke. Tom and Annamieke will bring the wine; you bring the company.

Whether it’s stargazing through the transparent ceilings or just soaking in the magic of the Vale, Divine Domes McLaren Vale is a one of a kind. Bring your lover, bring your tribe and have a family reunion — there’s endless space to unwind, explore and just “have a good time”, as Tom and Annamieke always say
