The Murray River is back, baby, and it’s waiting for you to jump into incredible experiences once again!

After some of the highest water levels the Murray River, Lakes and Coorong have ever seen, the region is rallying around all of the homes and businesses that suffered in the floods. Thank goodness, it’s been declared safe, the clean-up has restored so much beauty already, and now’s the perfect time for us to rise up for our river!

How can you get behind our fellow South Aussies? Easy — simply have a great time! Book in for an unforgettable experience, a regional hollie, eat, drink, be merry and shop local. Sounds pretty tough, hey!

Here’s four awesome ways you can rise up for our river and have one helluva good time while you’re doing it. And if you were lucky enough to snag one of the River Revival Vouchers in the latest ballot, then you can use these ideas as inspo for what to book!

The Bend Motorsport Park

It’s not just fun on the water in this incredible region, and this F1-style racing circuit will get the adrenaline pumping! There’s SO much on offer here for all ages in the heart of Tailem Bend, just an hour up the freeway, with food, accommodation, a museum and all the fast-car action you can imagine.

Channel your childhood love of Mario Kart with the family-friendly go-karting circuit… heeeere we go! You can take it up a notch with fast laps that will take you from 0 to 100km in just three seconds in the safe hands of their expert drivers, plus there’s a 4WD adventure park, a rally/off-road track, and plenty of major events to check out.  Bridgeport Hotel

For those who want to take things a little more at their own pace, the Bridgeport Hotel is your gateway to exploring all that’s on offer in the region. Only an hour from Adelaide, this award-winning hotel in the heart of Murray Bridge had a 45-million-dollar reno that’s guaranteed to delight!

Check into this gorgeous accommodation right on the river, order yourself some incredible food, a cocktail or two at the rooftop bar (or one of the five on-site bars!), then relax by the infinity pool that overlooks the Murray River… yes, please! Book in for one of their daily high tea experiences, take in some live entertainment or make the most of the hotel’s proximity to all that’s on offer in the region before returning to relax and do it all again in style.

Bowhill General Store

This perfectly placed stop rewrites your traditional convenience store! It’s super easy to access from the road and the river, so you’re sorted for fuel, gas, ice, drinks, fishing gear, cool giftware, takeaway and more… but what you can’t go past, is sitting on their deck overlooking the Murray and tucking into a big brekky or lunch.

Like much of the region, these legends were hit hard by the recent floods. So apart from all the top-quality convenience and goodies on offer, a stop here will leave you assured you’re helping the locals get back on track after such a challenging time. And it’s that kind of difference that makes us super proud to be South Aussies.
