Hungry? Let’s head north!

Hundreds of thousands of people travel up and down Main North Road every day — it’s the go-to route from the city to the North and vice versa. But there’s a delicious reason you should pull over.

Northpark Shopping Centre is full of surprises. Not only does this grand shopping centre in the northern suburbs have a special place in our hearts (fun fact: Lauren’s grandfather developed this centre many moons ago and it was the first of its kind in SA!) but over the years, it’s also become home to some delicious and unique foodie favourites.

Let’s take a tour for your tastebuds. Warning: if you’re reading this hungry, your mouth will be watering by the end!

Le Soup

There is nothing more comforting than a huge, steaming bowl of traditional pho — and that’s just a spoonful of what Le Soup is serving up! They’re all about modern Vietnamese cuisine, putting a new spin on traditional flavours, while still embracing the authentic ingredients that it’s known for.

Sakura Sushi Bar

Fresh sushi rolled up right in front of your eyes — yes please! But don’t stop there… treat yourself to one of their vibrant salad bowls, soothing soups, or a jam-packed bento box. It’s the perfect lunch stop when you’re go, go, go!

Café 19

A great spot to stop if you’re dining with a group, because there’s something for everyone on this menu! From loaded sandwiches, to hot meals like lasagne, soup and even yiros. This menu has an ever-changing specials board, but the one thing that doesn’t change is their fabulous coffee and cakes.

Naan Tandoori

If you’re a fan of authentic Indian food, look no further! The chefs behind Naan Tandoori have brought several years’ experience in five-star hotels and restaurants in India, and they definitely don’t disappoint. Our vegetarian friends will find a huge range to choose from on this menu, too!

Nijumaru

OMG, it’s an all-you-can-eat buffet! This Japanese dining experience will leave you full to the brim, with reasonable pricing and unlimited options. Here, you’ll find beautifully prepared Japanese classics, including sashimi, katsu chicken and gyoza.

Fan favourites

If you’re not quite ready to jump out of your comfort zone and instead, are craving something familiar, Northpark Shopping Centre has you covered. For a hearty lunch or dinner, dip into Noodle Box, Nando’s or Pattysmiths, and then follow it up with a sweet treat from CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice or Brumby’s Bakery.

Next time you’re driving down Main North Road with your belly rumbling away, do yourself a favour and fill your tummy at Northpark Shopping Centre.
