Guest article by Alyse Vozzo from The Stylist’s Guide

We LOVE ourselves a party — big or small — and one vital part of the prep is setting the scene. Sometimes a few little touches can make all the difference and that’s where styling superstar, Alyse Vozzo from The Stylist’s Guide comes in!

Alyse is an absolute guru at transforming a space or creating a vibe for all sorts of events, including baby showers, birthdays, weddings, business launches and more. With Christmas just over a month away, we chatted to Alyse to get a few simple tips on getting festive this season…

When it comes to styling a Christmas setting, we like to keep some traditional elements. We find using a pop of a Christmas colour, be it red, green or gold, can transform the table into a festive affair. This can be in anything from the napkins to the swizzle sticks or flowers on the table.

Hot tip

To make even more of a statement, why not mix a few festive colours together to create a fun yet classic vibe! For example, instead of choosing just one colour, mix red, green and gold elements into your table scape to wow your guests.

Arguably the best part of Christmas is that everything is in abundance! From the food, to the presents and, of course, the love — everything about Christmas is plentiful. Making your table setting full and abundant with elements that make your guests smile is key to nailing your table styling for the most wonderful time of the year. We like to use flowers, napkins, gifts and finer details like swizzle sticks, bonbons and place settings to fill the table and create that bountiful feeling.

Hot tip

Pick elements that are special to you, your guests and your own Christmas traditions.

Use a personalised Christmas ornament as a place setting on your Christmas table… it will make the perfect name card on your Christmas table. As well as a thoughtful gift for your guests, there’s no fighting about who sits next to who, plus they’ll make the table look divine! Win, win!

Most of all, have fun! The day is all about you and your people so make sure you set the scene for good times and great company!
