“My first ever memory is of a smell,” says Etikette Candles owner Ella Walker, who fondly recalls the scent of clover flowers under the washing line in her childhood garden. “I love that scent memories are so powerful, and fragrances can tell such delicate stories.”
The entire range of Etikette Candles and Eco Diffusers is inspired by the smells of this wild and beautiful place we call home — handmade from Australian fine fragrances and layered with notes like sassafras, wild sage and Illawarra plum. “My favourite fragrance, Otways in Bush Botanicals, smells exactly like the bushwalking track near home.”
Sustainable hearts
Everything that Etikette does considers our earth — including their reusable amber glassware, which is perfect for propagating plants. Their gorgeous scents are also available in eco-reed diffusers made with a plant-based alternative to glycerine and alcohol. “It’s a gentler production and better for the environment. The diffusers aren’t flammable, so they’re great in a workplace or school and last for up to six months.”

Homegrown success
When Ella started hand-pouring candles in her laundry five years ago, she never imagined it would grow so much. “From setting up trestle tables at local markets to now hand pouring over 65,000 candles in a year, I’m so proud of our amazing team. They’ve all grown with Etikette, which makes it even more meaningful. The whole thing’s been an incredible ‘pinch me’ adventure.”

The team rolls up the studio door and unveils the magic, with demo pours, special prices and more. “We theme the days for the occasion — like on Mother’s Day when we have a florist and coffee on-site at our studio in Bridgewater. Come and see where the candle magic happens.”
