Well I guess we can all walk around with an extra pep in our step because (even though we’ve secretly known this since day dot), it was just confirmed in the news that Adelaide, our fair city was named the 3rd Most Livable City in The World and the Most Livable City in Australia,  by a global index.

Yeah, that’s right, Adelaide.

Even those interstaters who used to slam us are moving here because they’ve realised Adelaide offers all the benefits of city living without the congestion and cramped living… and let’s be honest, less traces of Covid19. We did good here, kids.

But for all those naysayers who still don’t understand why we’re sh*t hot bronze medalists, I’ve created a list with just a handful of reasons why our city is just so damn livable, you wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

Our coffee doesn’t taste like dirty brown water

Our city actually has loads of amazing cafes and hole-in-the-wall coffee shops, serving up the best of the best when it comes to lattes. Just in the CBD alone, there are some wonderful beans you should know about. Here are a few of our faves…

Coffylosophy – Hutt Street

Pickle in the Middle – Unley Road (just a walk out of the CBD)

Funk Coffee Food  – Victoria Square

Argo – Victoria Square

Hello Sarnie – Pirie Street and Gawler Place

Ballaboosta – Halifax Street

Nano Cafe – Ebenezer Place

The 15 minute rule

If anywhere in Adelaide takes longer than 15 minutes to get there, we just don’t do it. LOLS. Traffic is a breeze most of the time. Oh and parking in the city won’t leave you broke either. You can snag early bird all-day parks for under $10 in various places… but if you can’t be bothered driving, we have buses, trains and trams that will get you into the city in no time. But let’s be honest, once you’re in, you can walk or wheel from East to West and back again, easily!

We don’t need to leave our state to go on wild holidays!

We can have epic ocean adventures all along the Fleurieu, Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas, hike magnificent mountain ranges in the Flinders Ranges, experience amazing island holidays on Kangaroo Island, sip your way through the world’s best wine regions in Coonawarra, Langhorne Creek, the Barossa and McLaren Vale and float down the Murray River on a luxury houseboat.

We’re so damn good-looking

From above, we have green parks, playgrounds, bike tracks and walking trails everywhere! All within walking distance from our fabulous city, perfect for kids and dogs and people who just love to get out amongst nature.

Some must-try city exercise trails:

The Torrens Weir Loop

Victoria Park Racecourse

Linear Park Trail

Oh, the housing prices

Even though to us they may have skyrocketed to jaw-dropping amounts, (kudos to you if you’re selling) they’re still so much more affordable in comparison to the eastern states. I mean, $1.5 million will get you a lovely family home in a city fringe area in SA… the same amount will buy a 4 x 4 cell in Sydney, right? If you want to live in Adelaide’s CBD there are gorgeous homes and apartments with plenty of charm, tree-lined streets and space to breathe. They also make the perfect investment property that you can hold onto forever. Hello retirement plan!

If you want to buy, sell or lease in our amazing city, pop in and meet our lovely friends at the brand spanking new Century 21 on Frome Street. The new office is filled with capable and hardworking real estate agents who would love nothing more than to dazzle you with their local knowledge and expertise. They’ll look after you! Just say you know us and they might give you extra special treatment, lols.
