Blissfully quiet, beautifully decorated, and big enough to fit our entire team? It’s a big YES from us!
The Retreat in Stirling is a sprawling Adelaide Hills home that has been artfully transformed into an incredible accommodation option. We recently stayed there with the entire Adelady dream team for a planning day / slumber party, and it was the perfect home base.
The unique thing about this property is that you can book one of the luxe one or two bedroom apartments in the house individually for a little getaway with a loved one and still be totally secluded, or you can book the entire home and invite all your nearest and dearest to stay. The house is cleverly split into seperate areas, and each area is fully equipped with a big cosy bed, lounge area, bathroom and kitchen or kitchenette. Plus, provisions for a cooked brekky can be found in the fridge — yum! All up, this property has the potential to sleep 12 people with plenty of privacy, making it the perfect spot to book a weekend retreat.

Aside from the beautiful bedrooms, wardrobes and bathrooms, you’ll also find that the main living area includes a dining room, a larger chill out lounge, and a full kitchen with all the bells and whistles. There are fires throughout the house for that cosy winter vibe, plus a huuuuuge indoor pool that was just begging for us to jump right in (it’s a shame we didn’t bring our bathers!). It all depends on which one or two bedroom apartment you book, or if you book the whole property!

One of the best bits is the lush garden that keeps the house hidden and private. You might be just minutes away from the freeway making it a very easy drive, but you truly feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. There’s even a resident kookaburra who kind of feels like part of the team now, since he was present and sitting on the windowsill as we planned ahead for a big 2023.
Over the 24 hours we were lucky enough to stay at The Retreat, we really made it feel like our home — and we loved every second of it. In fact, we’re already making plans for this to become a yearly thing our team does together!
