What would you think if we told you one of our favourite places to grab a coffee and a bite to eat was our local car wash?
We’ve been getting our cars cleaned at The Wash Malvern and Glenelg for donkey’s years and there’s a great reason for it — they do a fab job making sure we whiz around SA in the shiniest cars possible. But these days, we’ve got even more reason to pop past this hot spot — and it has a lot to do with coffee and cake.

Originally established in 2005 by Paul Sideris and now run with his partner Ashleigh Holbing, The Wash Malvern has recently undergone a mind-blowing transformation to match its sister in Glenelg and they’ve gone all out! It’s no longer a chore to get the cars washed — instead it’s become an excuse to hang out in their funky mint green café, sipping a fresh juice.

We love dropping off the car and sauntering inside, before chatting to the lovely team and pulling out our laptops to make The Wash our office for the arvo. And trust us when we say the menu options are on another level — there is so much on offer, you’d think you were in a fully fledged café! We’re creatures of habit so we keep going back for the outstanding watermelon and strawberry juice and the vegan pumpkin wraps, but we’ve also sampled their bircher muesli, granola parfait, healthy raw treats, dragon fruit smoothie and gluten-free cakes. You really can’t go wrong.

When it comes to luxury car care, they take it to new heights with all the important services. “We offer it all — deep cleans, double rinses, plus plenty of extra add ons if you need it, like leather care, paint protection and even sun protection. We also offer memberships, so you pay a monthly fee and get your car cleaned as many times as you like,” says Paul.
They take care of our cars in ways we don’t even understand, so there’s no excuse for our cars to be dirty ever again, with the revamped The Wash up the road!
