There’s a reason that The Colonist has been entertaining guests since 1851 and that’s because it’s one helluva pub!

Traditional, charming, arty, funky, welcoming, warm, and of course serving up great brews, wines and cocktails that you’d only expect at your fave pub! The Colonist is all that, and more.

Located on The Parade in Norwood, the insides of this stunning building have been stripped back to its raw beauty with high ceilings, ornate copper roofing and original scenic wall paper. And on top of all this is local art splashed over its walls. Every piece is completely unique and eclectic which suits the vibe perfectly. Come August, it will go next-level arty with the space being used as a SALA exhibition!

It’s the perfect place to pop in for a quickie (lunch and a bevvy that is), or stay and kick on for dinner and drinks. The food is not what you’d expect from your local pub, it’s a little fancier. You can get super casual and dine at the main bar, enjoy table service in their restaurant or even sit outside, which is highly recommended on a sunny day. They also have so many little nooks that you can slide right into and get comfy while you soak up whatever’s on the menu.

Speaking of the menu, they offer snacks and small plates, modern Australian dishes and The Colonist chefs are so passionate about top quality local produce so the specials change regularly. You can indulge yourself for lunch, brunch or dinner. Hot tip: their brunch-style food is  freaking amazing, so when you’re scouting for your next brunch date venue with the gals, give it a whirl! *Brunch menu is only available on weekends.

Oh and don’t forget HAPPY HOUR!

Happy hour is Monday – Friday from 4pm to 6pm, and on Saturday and Sunday they even offer $10 Cocktails between 3pm and 6pm. Happy Hour also includes $1 off all SA pints, $1 off glasses of wine, $5 off bottles of wine and $11 Gin + Fever Tree Tonic.

So, mazel tov to that! See you at The Col!
