It’s impossible to have a bad time when there’s Balfours on the table!

With the summer party season upon us, South Australians are itching to entertain with friends and family, and now more than ever we’re supporting local businesses by bringing local brands into our homes. So, it’s the perfect time to invite a South Australian icon, Balfours, to the party.

Their classic sweets bring all the warm and fuzzies to the table with their delicious recipes and rich South Aussie history. More than 165 years after Balfours first began cooking from a small bakery on Rundle Street, they’re now a local institution making hundreds of different products every day. Pies, pastries, muffins, crumpets, cakes, donuts, croissants… the list goes on.

As delicious as they are on their own, have you ever tried to jazz them up? Dressing your classic Balfours Frog Cake, donuts and custard tarts to the nines might just be the crowd-pleaser we all need — and it’s easy as pie!

Frog in a pool

• Balfours Frog Cakes (as many as you want)
• Two packets of blue jelly
• Lollies to garnish — we used Green Mint Leaves

Make your blue jelly and set overnight in a large glass bowl. Once completely set, pop your Balfours Frogs on top and garnish with Mint Leaves.
