As an Adelaide fashion designer, I’m a massive supporter of other women in the industry and I get inspired by like-minded, passionate fashionistas like Stacey Hendrickson, the head designer of one of my favourite labels, casper&pearl. I got to sit down with her and find out what it’s like to be her — talented and fabulous!

C: Casper+pearl seems to be taking over the world with your fun prints and playful cuts! What future plans do you have for the label and what inspires you?
Oh thankyou very much! I just look forward to continue to push boundaries and surprise girls with our ranges. As cliche as it sounds, I’m inspired and keep going because of our loyal customers and c&p lovers all over the world. I also love street style, London Fashion Week, WGSN, and art.
C: casper+pearl showed at this year’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Sydney, alongside many other great Australian labels, what was this experience like?
Omg, it was unreal. casper&pearl was the only South Australian brand showing this year, which was an honour in itself. I made some great new friends with the designers I was showing next to, and met some amazing new clients and people within the industry!
C: Many celebrities all over the world including Margaret Zhang and Olivia Culpo have been spotted wearing your label, who has been your favourite so far and who would be your ultimate c&p girl?
Yeah it’s been really cool! I actually just sent off some samples to Cosmo US for some amazing new celebrity endorsements which you will just have to wait and see for! I’ve also dressed Ashley Madekwe and Becca Tobin, and I would die to dress Kendall Jenner or Rihanna. (Rihanna is following us on Instagram so I hope that dream isn’t too hard to reach).
C: At such a young age, you have been kicking so many goals right here from little old Adelaide! What do you love most about your hometown?
It’s home. I love that you can never turn a corner without seeing somebody that you know, and I love watching it grow into a diverse and cultural city. Over the last few years I’ve watched the fashion industry here grow immensley, and I’ve seen so many new festivals and restaurants pop up. It’s very exciting to see.
