Putting the GOOD in Goodwood, Ginger’s has always been a favourite with my friends. The interior is as bright and bold as the mural on the side of the building. With mis-matching and colourful crockery, tables and chairs, you almost feel like you’ve stepped back in time – to a better place.
Unfortunately, you can’t book ahead but there are plenty of tables and a waiting area if it’s super busy. They have large long tables or smaller ones for more intimate breakfast dates. There’s also a cute coffee garden out the back, with everyone’s favourite – a vertical plant wall.
I love a vego option and Ginger’s have loads of them. Smashed Avocado, feta and poached eggs — need I say more? ($18). I also get giddy on the Field Mushroom Ragu: herb roasted field mushrooms, slow-cooked in white wine on toasted sourdough ($16). Their coffee is a treat too! It’s ALL delicious.
Most definitely – there’s plenty of space for prams and high chairs. With its warm, fun and vibey atmosphere, you don’t need to feel uneasy bringing your kids along. There’s also the small coffee garden out the back, so if you need to take them out for some “fresh air” (AKA tell them off) feel free!
