Rolling hills, valley views, rows of vineyards, and even the odd kangaroo — Barossa Pavilions is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying. I quite literally didn’t want to leave.
Located just 5 minutes out of Lyndoch, these luxury pavilions sit smack-bang in the middle of wine country, a personal fave place for me. With six different freestanding self-contained villas to choose from, you’re guaranteed a relaxing getaway with views for days no matter which one you choose. Each building has been architecturally designed to maximise privacy, while making the most of the impressive panoramic views.
Owners James and Helen have thought of every single detail, and made sure the experience from start to finish is easy, relaxing, and a little bit luxe. I was surprised with a weekend away (lucky me!) and was overwhelmed with happiness the whole time I was there… so let me relive my dreams and give you a virtual walk through of what to expect from this glorious getaway.
When you arrive… you’ll find yourself winding through the back lanes of the Barossa, easily following signs to reach the front gate. Forget the fuss of checking in, and simply enter the gate code provided at booking. That’s right, you don’t have to see another single soul all weekend if you don’t want to! Follow the driveway until you reach your villa, and enter another code to get inside. It’s as simple as that!
The pavilions… are beautifully designed, spacious, and full of natural light. With an open plan kitchen and living space, large private bathroom, beautiful bedroom with a king bed, an attached double spa bath, and gorgeous decking space, you’ll be feeling blissed out in no time. Each pavilion features a wood fire so you’re always cosy, and huge windows running along the front so you can soak in the views from every angle. While all villas includes plenty of luxuries, you can choose the premium pavilions which also include a double sided fire between the bedroom and the spa bath, to add to the overall atmosphere. Bliss.
We chose to stock up on local wines and fresh produce so we could spend as much time out on the deck, chilling out on the double swing chair sipping vino and sizzling up a steak on the bbq.
The extras… for me, it’s always the little things that mean the most. Walking into a warm pavilion, with the fire already roaring, a bottle of local Gomersal wine waiting for us on the table, and a truly magnificent breakfast hamper sitting proudly on the bench made my heart sing — and not just because I love wine and brekky!
I came into work the weekend after our little Barossa getaway with a grin permanently stuck to my face, singing the praises of this exceptional accommodation — so much so, that Lauren and Hayley also booked a stay to check it out!
If you’re needing some time out, or you’re celebrating a special occasion with your special someone, I could not recommend this place more… I’m already scheming up ways to get back there!
