The Organic Market and Café is one of those hidden treasures that I’m sure the lovely people of Stirling would like to keep hidden. It’s one of those Adelaide cafes that make you feel great. As soon as you walk through the tree-covered garden setting out the front, you’ll know what I mean. It’s calm and beautiful. It’s a happy place. You can dine inside, on the veranda or outside in the garden, looking out into the gorgeous suburb that is Stirling. As the name suggests, inside is both a café and a market, selling fresh organic fruit and vegetables.
I can’t put into words how delicious and fresh their food is. It’s flavoursome and rustic. Their meals make me think of Jamie Oliver, with every dish wholesome and made with love. Their fresh juices are some of the best in Adelaide. You must try their carrot, celery, pineapple, beetroot and ginger juice (when you order, ask for the #1). Even though salad is not your typical breakfast choice, their salad bowls are so good that I always go back to them every time. Obviously, their more traditional breakfast items are equally delicious. Croissants, fruit loaf and home-made scones with a hot tea. My god; it’s an utter delight!
Thankfully this place is kid-friendly, because if it wasn’t, I’d have to leave my boys in the car! They have a little table and chairs set up in the corner, with colouring-in books for the toddlers and highchairs for babies. It’s important to know you can’t book a table, but you can get there nice and early to jag one.
