From humble beginnings to employing over 110 people with 90 vehicles on the road, Ken Hall is not just a household name — he’s a dad, a mentor and a really good bloke.
Knowing from day dot that he wanted to master a trade, Ken kicked off his plumbing dream in 1983 from his family home in the eastern suburbs. “In the beginning, I was a one-man business with a loaned vehicle, just looking to provide quality same-day service every day.”
Fast forward 37 years and, as well as being SA’s leading plumbing business, the brand has added many tools to its belt, including electrical, gasfitting, roofing, tiling and, of course, amazing bathroom renovations. As well as building a team of leading tradespeople, it’s a family affair in the new Ken Hall building on Fullarton Road, with Ken’s lookalike son Brad now GM and his beautiful daughter Maddy firmly in the business. “To me, the greatest achievement is to grow Ken Hall into a second-generation business working with my family and long-term staff while maintaining our cultural values.”
So, how has Ken Hall continued to go from strength to strength while maintaining such a great reputation? “I always trust my instinct to do the right thing and look at every day as an opportunity to learn and grow,” smiles Ken.
And the proof is in the pudding with Ken constantly pushing industry barriers and providing extensive training and personal development so that his staff can continue to provide the best for their customers.

“Being a bathroom designer, I’ll always have creative ideas. But it’s not about what I like, it’s about my clients. Once we know the basics that the client wants, the fun part is going through inspirational images and samples to get a gauge on what the client is drawn to,” says Nishani.
Encouraging clients to get involved, the girls recommend jumping on Pinterest and Instagram to get the creativity flowing.
