There’s a place in the City. It’s massive. It’s filled with people and knowledge. It’s tranquil, but strangely full of life at the same time. It’s in the middle of Rundle Mall and you probably don’t even know it’s there.
Welcome to the City Library!
But it’s not just a library, it’s so much more. It happens to be the perfect location for people like us – people who LOVE free wi-fi! As a business owner (without an office), we’re always on the hunt for comfy working spaces where we don’t have to pay for the internet!
The City Library is a giant space, filled with books, co-working spaces, garden walls, meeting rooms, digital hubs and comfy relaxing reading areas. With free wi-fi, you can choose to work along-side others at a work desk or venture outside if you prefer. Yep, a library with its own outdoor area looking down onto Rundle Mall! We call it the Rooftop Chill Zone.
Inside also houses the Innovation Lab where you can play around with the 3D printer and the Media Lab which is decked out with keyboards and microphones, so aspiring singer-songwriters can go and work their editing magic! With so many books and DVD’s, it’s also the perfect spot to explore with the kids on a rainy day.
The City Library, is completely untraditional and it really is all about connecting people, creating and inspiring.
You’ll find it on Level 6, Rundle Place. Just look for the big fluffy white cloud.
You can also visit Hutt Street Library, 235 Hutt Street, Adelaide and North Adelaide Library, 176 Tynte Street, North Adelaide. They too are dynamic spaces where people are encouraged to create, connect & inspire.
Awww, now it’ll get crowded. Only thing missing there is a coffee machine.
haha, coffee, YES! X
It has one ?
Hello Geoff .. there is a coffee machine tucked in the north west corner of the library 🙂
Great news! You can enjoy a hot cup of coffee in the City Library. We have a coffee machine right next to the Out Door Room.
My mate and I discovered this place one day and were in awe, we even got to watch something getting 3D printed – so cool!
