It’s Saturday morning; coffee in hand, husband in tow – off to another auction. Is it just me, or is there always a peculiarly similar crowd? If you’re in house hunting mode, here are a few people you can expect to bump into at your next auction…
The Snoopy Neighbour
Is the grass really greener? Peering over the fence at opportune moments provides such dull gossip. What better way to compare interest and prices than a short stroll through a neighbour’s home? Watch them slink away with dollar signs in their eyes as the house goes for much more than they expected.
The Anxious Wife
Gripped by fear, she’s almost applying Chinese burns to her husband’s arm. Fretful and begging her partner to keep bidding, she’s in love… with the house!
The Guy in Sunglasses
Running around sprouting negatives about the home before the auction starts – his wayward motives are clear to see. Don’t listen to him, he intends to put other bidders off with his lies. “Look at those cracks”, you know the guy.
Calm, collected and confident in the knowledge they’ve already submitted an outrageous offer, bought the house three days prior and have wasted the time of everyone else turning up.
Until next time…
