We’re back, baby! Marina Pier, one of the most beautiful strips right on the harbour, is the perfect destination for your next day or night out. You can eat, drink and play your way along the neighbouring restaurants, or pick one and settle in for a delicious meal.

So, if it’s been a while, let me update you on what you’ll find along the strip…

Veloce Paninoteca

In my opinion, all good days start with coffee. Our first stop along Marina Pier was at Veloce, and the team  nailed our extremely complicated order (“I’d like an extra hot soy flat white with a double shot and plenty of foam” haaaa)! A popular choice for the locals, this coffee hotspot is the ideal destination at any time of year. There are seating options inside, and also an enclosed and heated outdoor area so rain, hail or shine, you can stop in for your caffeine fix.

Looking for something more substantial? We highly recommend the waffles, topped with melted chocolate, fresh strawberries and cream. They are completely drool-worthy!

Segway Sensations SA

Weeeeeeeee! We’re off! We’ve segway’d our way through the Barossa with Cindy and her team in the past, but now they’ve got a new and improved experience and it’s here in Glenelg!  The trusty segways have had an upgrade, and now they’re designed for all terrains which means… drumroll please… you can ride on the beach!

This experience will take you from Moseley Square down to Broadway, and then back along the sand to The Lock, with plenty of free time for you to find your feet. There’s also an opportunity to practise on the grassy area of Colley Reserve so you can get your confidence up before taking off on your journey.

Such a unique and fun way to travel, and certainly the perfect way to work up the olllldddd appetite….

The Oyster Bar

The name might say “oysters”, but the menu says “oysters, prawns, squid, platters, meat, veg, and most importantly — haloumi fries”. Once upon a time this was a seafood lovers dream destination, and trust us, it still is. But these days, the menu is varied with plenty of options for all tastebuds.

With indoor and outdoor seating options, The Oyster Bar also caters for those that just want to drop in for a drink and a quick nibble. They also boast an impressive bar that sits entirely on ice, so you’re guaranteed an icy cold beer if that’s what your heart desires.

For those that are looking for a more casual dining experience and want to eat on the beach, then we’ve found the perfect solution for you! The Oyster Bar now offers takeaway catering boxes that you can grab and go. We sampled the cheese platter, the fresh seafood, and also a box filled with chicken and pancetta wantons, and believe us when we say “yum”! Just head on in to The Oyster Bar to order your catering box — it’s a good idea to give them a bit of a heads up if you can.

Sunset Bar

Just like every perfect day begins with coffee, I believe that every perfect day also ends with a cocktail — who’s with me? A short wander down Marina Pier and you’ll stumble across the Sunset Bar. This well-known watering hole has seen countless celebrations walk through the door, and is home to some of the quirkier drink choices out there. If you’re like us, you’ll go for the fishbowl, or if you’re feeling a little bit classier, there are plenty of wines and beers on offer.

One of the best parts of the Sunset bar is that you can walk all the way through from Marina Pier, and end up beach side looking out over the water.

We’re so lucky to be surrounded by so many waterfront restaurants here in SA, so make the most of them! Take the trip down to Marina Pier for your next meal out — we guarantee there is something for EVERYONE.
