I won’t lie to you – I’m an eastern suburbs baby through and through. I was born smack bang in the middle of Magill and have only ever moved a couple of postcodes away ever since. We’re so lucky to have an abundance of shopping strips in the area with everything you need only ever a 10 minute drive away (I’ve been known to complain that even the city was “too far”) so getting to revisit everything on offer on Magill Road felt like a homecoming.

One thing that I was completely surprised by though, was the amount of NEW shops and cafes that have popped up in the last few years. Driving past and having a nosy in the windows doesn’t do the area justice, and I’ve been missing out!  So we grabbed our girl gang and hit the Magill Road precinct to explore what’s out there.

Here’s our hit-list…

6 Weeks 2 Sexy

I was NOT prepared for this fast paced workout, but I loved it! We had a mixed group of ages and fitness levels, and I was so proud to see everyone giving it their all and working up a sweat (and an appetite, but more on that later…). We arrived and got straight down to business, with some squats and lunges. And then some more squats. And some more lunges. It’s no surprise that I struggled to sit down the next day!

6 Weeks 2 Sexy offers a range of different options, from their standard 6 week program to personal training and specialised classes. Hit them up if you want to get super sexy in only 6 weeks!

Nourish’d Kitchen

About that appetite that we worked up… after our workout, we were all STARVING and ready for a coffee and a little nibble. Or so we thought – we actually all ended up with a huge, scrumptious plate of fritters and avo. YUM!

Collectively, we also had one of the most complicated coffee orders of all time but Riley and his team smashed it, and it was announced to be “one of the best coffees I’ve ever had” by most members in our group.

Shopping, shopping and more shopping

Once we’d filled our bellies, we were ready to shop up a storm. Our first stop was the divine Twopairs, and I think it’s fair to say that every single person left with a purchase. Honestly, if I could just skip redecorating my home and move straight into their showroom instead, I’d be a happy girl.

Next up was Flourish Gift + Homewares, which is floor to ceiling colour and eclectic pieces. This has always been a go-to for me at Christmas, because there are so many great gift ideas (even for those really hard-to-buy for people).

We stopped in at Outside Square which has so many unique and one-of-a-kind pieces, you can feel your eyes jumping all over the place, and then wandered back along the strip with a quick stop into House of Orange, where I gained all of my Christmas table inspo.

By this point we had digested our breakfast and could face trying on clothes again, so made our way up the road to Love Affair Boutique and their display of colourful clothing. If you’re in desperate need of a last minute outfit for ANY occasion, I recommend making Love Affair Boutique your first stop.

Scoffed Cooking School

Across the road is Scoffed Cooking School. For most of my life, I thought this experience was for kids – it turns out that I was completely wrong! Scoffed caters to all levels of cooking experience and offers options for every kind of person – littlies, girl gangs (like us), or even specialised BBQ classes for those wanting to show off this summer.

We learnt how to make chimichurri chicken (or halloumi, for our vego) with a fresh avocado and mango salad. After brekky, I didn’t think I’d ever eat again, but this chicken salad changed my mind. Delicious and rewarding, since we made it all ourselves.

Viva Continental Deli

After all our hard work slaving away in the kitchen (jokes) we were ready for a wine. We popped into Viva Continental, which you might recognise from Burnside Village. Viva has recently moved to Magill Road and set up shop, offering fresh salads and heatable meals, cheese, dips, crackers, pasta, raw desserts, and even full meals for brekky, lunch and dinner. I loved it so much that I made brunch plans on the spot with a friend.

By that point, we were all tired, full, happy and in need of a nap, so we ended our ladies day out there. There were so many places that we didn’t get a chance to visit, but I’m ok with that – because it means that we get to go back and do it all again.

Shoutout to the team from City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters for putting together a fab day out, and to all the ladies that joined us on our adventure. We had a ball!
