Chances are you’re a fan of Quality Gourmet Chef’s pancakes and waffles without even realising. WORDS Millie Looker qgourmetchef.com.au Back in 1987, a local crepe business was born — and before long, it was booming! Quality Gourmet Chef’s crepes were so popular that in no time at all, they were supplying some of the best restaurants, hotels and pubs around Adelaide with their renowned pancakes and waffles.

“We’re one of the biggest pancake and waffle suppliers in SA, and our products are served up at some of the most popular eateries in Adelaide. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’ve probably been eating our products for years without even knowing our name!” says Jacqui Nicolo, CEO.

Three generations on and still family owned and operated, Quality Gourmet Chef is now in the hands of an all-female team, employing over 25 South Aussies to hand-make each and every one of their products. But now, they’re trying something new.

“We wanted to make sure that everyone could enjoy our products, so we branched out with a gluten-free range. Luckily, they were a hit! So now, we’re proud to be supplying major supermarkets with our gluten-free Belgian plain and cinnamon waffles, and glutenfree pancakes. It’s so exciting to think that people will be able to enjoy our products in their own homes,” says Jacqui.

And enjoy them at home we will! This new mouth-watering range of Quality Gourmet Chef goodies can be found at selected Foodland stores under their home brand in the bakery. Happy brunching!

PANCAKES THE RIGHT WAY

Pancakes and waffles never get old. Why? Because the top-portunities are endless! We asked Jacqui for the best way to eat the new gluten-free range of goodies.

• The classic: Oodles of maple syrup and a solid scoop of vanilla ice cream.

• Get fruity: Fresh berries with a drizzle of chocolate sauce and a sprinkling of icing sugar.

• Chocoholics R Us: What goes perfectly with Belgian waffles? Belgian chocolate, of course! Top with thick, melted Belgian chocolate and a dollop of whipped cream, and voila!
