The start of every year is marked by an explosion of activity in our beautiful city — yep, we’re talking about the Adelaide Fringe! But once the outbursts of music start to die down, and the rainbow-coloured Lycra, synthetic wigs and free acrobatic acts in the mall disappears… what next?

Never fear, because we’ve discovered that there actually IS a life after Fringe!

Keep the food and drink flowing

Just when you think you’re ready for a dry spell… SURPRISE! April is all about fabulous food and delicious drinks. Even though we’re spoiled-for-choice on the average day, you can sink your teeth into an offering of unique city-based experiences with Tasting Australia at this time of year.

Jump into the Archie Rose Gin Blending Experience, where you can hone your skills at creating the perfect botanical blend. You’ll be set to show off your goods and really wow your guests at your next dinner party.

Or get adventurous with Dinner in the Dark, a blindfolded dining experience that you won’t see, and you definitely won’t forget! Place your senses — and your trust! —in the hands of a local winemaker who will expertly match each exquisite morsel with the perfect wine.

Or, get set for an unforgettable one-off dining event in the Glasshouse Kitchen. Some of the world’s best chefs will take you on a taste exploration, dished up in a picturesque glasshouse. Heaven!

Get arty

Following an indulgent April, it’s time to take a breath and shift focus. May welcomes a celebration for all the little people, with DreamBIG Children’s Festival.

It’s also an ideal time to take a step back in time with the month-long History Festival.

Plus, winter brings our rich arts culture to the forefront, with the Adelaide Cabaret, Guitar, and SALA festivals filling the air.

Get your festival on…

And just like that, BOOM. Our city has turned purple. The beautiful Jacaranda blossoms line the streets as spring brings in the festival vibes. Think Adelaide Film Festival, INDOfest, Adelaide Fashion and Vogue Festivals, OzAsia, Feast Festival and more!

So technically, yes. Fringe might be over and Mad March is just a distant memory — well, almost — but there’s still plenty happening in Adelaide to fill your calendar (and your hearts… awww).

And as one of the most liveable cities in the world, there’s something for every kind of Adelady.
