I have two thoughts when someone texts me the wonderful news that they’re having a baby. The first one is always, “AHHH I’m so excited and happy for them”! Of course, I’m not a monster. My second is, “Oh, what the hell am I going to get them?” It’s not that I don’t relish the opportunity to show my friends support, but let’s be honest, this is a loaded gift.
You want to get something that says, “I know what every new mum needs — but also, I’m a friend that buys your kids the cool stuff.”
