When someone says Dumplings — I’m there! Steamed or fried — I don’t care, I love it all! So naturally, it was love at first bite when we met Caitlin from Feast on Foot. Her walking food and dumpling tours are out of this world! Not only do you get to eat from a selection of special dumpling houses in Adelaide’s CBD, but you also experience a private mini street art tour and a brief history of our wonderful inner city. So naturally, we pinned Caitlin down and made her tell us her WHERE to get the best dumplings in Adelaide.

In no particular order :

1. Sushi bar GENKI

Genki started life in the David Jones food court and has graduated upwards to Gouger Street. Delicious vegetarian gyoza, amazing ramen and the freshest sushi, brilliant!

2. Star House Chinese Restaurant

Star House is my number one for yum cha. I cannot go past their siu mai or pork buns and their scallop dumplings are to die for.

3. Sukhumvit Soi 38

Soi 38 is a cheeky contender, with their sago dumplings filled with pork and peanut. Hot tip, ask for extra coconut sauce.

4. Red Panda Dumplings – Golden Grove

A suburban shout out, Red Panda Golden Grove has the best suburban Chinese dumplings I have found. Their soup dumplings are an experience! Thoroughly worth a drive.

6. Piroshki Cafe

Blink and you’ll miss it but Piroshki Cafe is an absolute hidden gem in the Central Markets. Savoury and sweet tooths are taken care of here!

7. Fushun Dumpling and Noodle House

Another hole-in-the-wall, Fushun make their dumplings fresh and they are plump, juicy pieces of happiness. Take the test, do you prefer steamed or fried? (I love steamed!)

8. Mandoo

A staple amongst those in the know, you can watch the chef hand make the Mandoo in front of your eyes. For something different, try the house specialty — Kimchi Mandoo.

10. Yum Dumplings

Another for the Chinese Dumplings list (because why not) Yum Dumplings may look like a sushi place, but it also has excellent dumplings and hand made noodles.
