Hungry Hippo, Streets of Adelaide; Adelady

The Hungry Hippo Board Game Café is one of my favourite places to go out on a Saturday night at the moment. This is a place for us (nerdy girls), to hang. It’s perfect for a winter’s night where you can’t be bothered putting on the heels, lashes and all those other uncomfortable things.  Even though it’s on Hindley Street, it’s a strictly a comfortable affair!

The Café has board games, booze and dessert; a perfect combination if you ask me. You can play your classic games like Scrabble, Uno and the Game of Life or the lovely staff are great at recommending games based on what you like. I played Dixit for the first time last week and it was so much fun.

While you’re playing games, you can indulge in their delicious menu of burgers, mac and cheese, wedges, pasties and other (rather unhealthy) delights — Perfect game food! Check out their menu HERE.

Hungry Hippo is part of Renew Adelaide which unfortunately means that it won’t be around long in it’s current location. So make sure you check it out. It’s a place to go when you don’t want a crazy big night but you still want to socialise and have a few drinks with friends. Also the food there is super yummy, which always makes me come back.

They have an enormous wide range of new and nostalgic games available for you and your friends to play, including Game of thrones, Cranium, Cluedo and even Babysitters Club!  For a full list of the games they have on offer, click HERE.

Let me know your fave bar in Adelaide, I’d love to feature it on Adelady!
