Lady Burra is one of Adelaide’s funkiest venues, right in the heart of the CBD. Their point of difference? They’re the only micro-brewery smack-bang in the middle of our city streets. For those of you out there that aren’t a beer fan, hold up! There are plenty of other options to tickle your fancy so stick around and hear us out…

SPACE

Depending on which way you’re coming from, the first thing that you’ll see when you arrive at Lady Burra is the beautiful wall art that lines the laneway, making up part of the alfresco area. The whole vibe of the place is kind of warehouse-chic, with pallets lining the walls and great pops of colour throughout to brighten the place up.

One of the highlights is the new alfresco seating out the front, in Topham Mall — it’s the perfect passageway to the Northern side of the city. For all you people-watchers out there, you’ll love it too, as there is no shortage of foot traffic.

Another cool element of the venue is the actual brewhouse that sits at the back, behind the bar. With great big lights and plenty of glass to have a sneak peek you’ll be right there to witness the inhouse action of making their brews.

FOOD

This is no word of a lie — we had to get another table for some extra space for all the food. Lady Burra KNOW how to feed a crowd, wowza. Every single plate of the Portuguese-style food was demolished and the dishes that we ordered fed the entire team, plus a couple of extra ring-ins that arrived with perfect timing!

Restaurant manager, Miguel, told us that one of the specific requirements for him to become a part of the business was that his Mum had to be involved in the cooking and thank God for that, as she is our brand new girl crush! Her speciality is the paella which is served on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and is topped with fresh prawns and mussels. It’s next-level delicious!

We know not everyone loves to share as much as we do, but we absolutely recommend ordering a bunch of nibbly bits and popping them in the middle of the table. There are too many options to just choose one!

DRINKS

First things first, it’s pretty obvious that if you head to Lady Burra you should probably give one of their beers a go — that is what they’re known for after all! If beer is not your drink of choice though, there’s no need to panic. All the other classics are on offer too so everyone will be happy (we got a round of Aperol Spritz and at the end of a long day of filming they definitely hit the spot)!

It’s handy to know that the space can also hold private functions, so if you’re looking for a central spot for your next part-aaay then give them a call and they’ll see what they can do!

Thank you to Miguel and Tom for the delicious food and much needed drinks. You’re bound to see our faces again (for reals — we’ve already made a booking for a couple of weeks time)!
