DÉCOR

As you walk through the bright yellow door, you can’t help but have a spring in your step. Mr Sunshine’s really is sunny. Even on a rainy day, the sun still shines from inside this particularly cute café in Adelaide’s west. If you didn’t know it was there,  it could very easily be missed; it’s tucked away in Thebarton, surrounded by a mix of industrial buildings and businesses.

Outside there are tables and chairs, a big yellow umbrella and plenty of room for prams and dogs. Inside is small but cosy. Their tables, chairs and crockery are all mismatching. You almost feel like you’re in your grandma’s house (sans the old person smell). It’s homely and comfortable.

FOOD

I had the sweet spiced zucchini bread with icing sugar sprinkled over the warm, buttery top ($8). As I was trying to have a conversation with my friend, all I could think about was how delicious it tasted, (sorry Claire)! My friends rave about their minced mushrooms on sourdough, with eggs and wilted spinach. Oh and their coffee was amazing too, it’s made several ‘best coffee’ reviews. As soon as you sip it, you’ll understand why.

KID FRIENDLY?

Kid and dog friendly. Tick, tick. When we first entered (me, with child and my friend, with dog), the staff squealed with glee when they saw our babies! They were super happy to accommodate babes and pups. It’s quite tight inside but we still managed to negotiate our way in with a big pram. Outside is great,  there’s loads of room. But if it were cold and rainy, you’d much prefer to be inside.

+ VIBE :: Warm, cosy, happy, super friendly.
