You know us — we’re all about the warm and fuzzies, which is exactly what Balfours brings to the table. Best shared with family and friends, their huge range of donuts, cakes, cookies, tarts, and pies are the perfect way to relive your best memories, while making plenty of new ones.

Only South Australians truly understand that Balfours feeling… it might be something from your childhood, or something you really look forward to when you spoil yourself.

To celebrate this South Aussie icon, we asked a bunch of our fam and friends to share that classic Balfours feeling, and exactly what it means to them…

Frog Cake

I mean who doesn’t love the idea of eating a cake that looks just like a green tree frog? I start with it’s head and work my way down to the cakey base.

My bestie, Lauren

Napoleon cake

To this day, Napoleon Cakes are still called “Fairy Cakes” in my house. I don’t really know why, but I LOVE THEM. I can’t wait for the day when I have kids of my own, and they get to try their first bite of Fairy Cake.

My Adelady, Millie

Berlina

Every single Tuesday we would have a chapel right before recess. Tuesday also happened to be the day berlinas were stocked in the canteen. That meant that every week, the entire middle school would SPRINT out of chapel towards the canteen to try secure themselves a precious Berlina — I always made it in time to snag one oozing with jam.

My Adelady and sister-in-law, Em

Custard tart

I’ve got four siblings, so there was always a lot of noise in my house. One sure-fire way to get us to be quiet for 5 minutes, was for Mum to grab us all some custard tarts. Now, I use the same trick on my kids!

My dad, Wayne

Apple pie

I’ve loved apple pies my whole entire life, but I started to love them even more when I discovered that you could get them ready-made from Balfours. My hot tip — pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds and enjoy them warm.

My Mum, Rosalie

The Dottie Cookie

I’ve got a real sweet tooth, so I’ve always gone for the Dottie Cookie… because it combines a sweet soft cookie with the extra bonus of chocolate. My youngest grandson also loves them, because he has the same sweet tooth as me!

My husband, Jimmy

Finger Bun

Nothing better than a Finger Bun with lashings of butter. I’ve passed on my love for the old FB’s to my boys which means, they always give me a bite.

My youngest, Alfie

Chocolate Donut

I love when we get to have donuts on the way to the beach. Especially the chocolate ones. I love chocky.

My oldest, Austin

Fruit Mince Pies

They make me think of Christmas, and of my Ganny and Pa ‘cos they always have them at their house.

With every Balfours sweet treat, it incites a feeling. Whether it’s a memory from your childfood, or that warm and fuzzy feeling you get when you’re about to tuck into real comfort food. Balfours, you have our heart.
