Ahh the Adelaide Hills, we fall a little more in love every time we find ourselves cruising up the freeway or winding through the back roads. And don’t even try and deny it — we know you love it too. Every time we share a piece of the Adelaide Hills with you, the response is amazing, so this time around we thought we’d find all of our fave little haunts and put them together in one neat little package so you can steal out itinerary on your next Sunday drive.

You’re welcome, lovers xx

Janesce

The biggest organ of our whole entire body is our skin. So are we going to find out the very best ways to look after it?

Damn right we are.

Everyone meet Jan. We love Jan.

Jan originally studied as a naturopath and beauty therapist, with a particular focus on nutrition, before realising that her true love lay in skincare. After years of travelling and building a family, Jan settled herself in the Adelaide Hills, specifically: Echunga. From there, Jan used her expertise to grow the crops and create the top secret Janesce essences herself. Each year, the produce of the farm is harvested and dried on site, before being taken to the lab to be carefully crafted into the ingredients each product needs.

The main rule of thumb is that if it doesn’t come from the plants, it’s not allowed in the product. From that point, her team creates the lotions, oils, mists and treatments that we all know and love, before they get packaged up on site and shipped off.

If that’s not a feel-good story of a local SA business paving the way for skincare, then I don’t know what is.

Her farm is nestled in the Adelaide Hills but you can visit her shops and experience Janesce for yourself in the City, Nordood and Hyde Park.

Haus in Hahndorf and Hahndorf Accommodation Group

Waking up in Hahndorf is another kind of beautiful. The air is just a little more crisp and a dash sweeter than anywhere else in the world. So, come for the food but stay the night and play for the weekend!

Just 20 minutes up the freeway Hahndorf Accommodation Group and The Haus Restaurant has something to suit every kind of Adelady!

If you’re after delicious food that shows off the best local produce from the Adelaide Hills, looking to recharge with a quick getaway, or planning an awesome event, the Hahndorf Accommodation Group and The Haus Restaurant have got you covered — trust us! Read our full story here.

Sidewood at Maximilians

The Adelaide Hills has 57363957* wineries to choose from, so it’s super important for a cellar door to have a point of difference. Well, Sidewood at Maximilians has so many points of difference we’ve dedicated a whole article to them!

Everyone in Adelaide seems to have a memory from this gorgeous estate, whether it’s napping under their parents chair in the Maximilian’s restaurant 20 years ago or wobbling down the driveway after an afternoon of wine and sunshine outside the Sidewood Cellar Door.

If you haven’t visited for a while then it’s definitely time to plan your next trip – there is so much history combined with food, wine and new experiences that will make you fall in love with this stunning place all over again, just like we did.

SteamRanger Heritage Trains

We’ve discovered a whole new way to explore the Adelaide Hills, and the best part? It makes us feel like we’re part of a Harry Potter movie!

The SteamRanger Heritage Railway is a not-for-profit organisation that works to restore and maintain the old trains, before sending them all over the Adelaide Hills and down to the Fleurieu Peninsula.

You’ve got a couple of different options to choose from when it comes to your travel destinations — you can take the Highlander for a day trip to Strathalbyn like us, or you can grab the fam and make your way down to Victor Harbor on the The Southern Encounter!

We promise that you’ll love it, almost as much as the kids will!
