Surround yourself with positive, creative, passionate people and BIG things will happen. I truly believe that. Kelly is one of those people – passionate, creative and a massive go-getter!

Kelly is the creator of The Little Trestle Co: an Adelaide party business that offers styled trestle tables for all types of events. Her vision is simple, “More Party…less planning, so you can focus on the fun stuff!”

But her idea didn’t blossom until she fell preggers and went on maternity leave. It’s funny how when you become a mum, your career goals shift a little and you start working towards a different kind of balance. What used to make you happy, may not anymore. After 5 years working as a photographer running her own successful business, Kelly L Photography, she became a mum and while on maternity leave, fell madly in love with party planning and styling. And so, The Little Trestle Co. was born. She now has two successful businesses and rocks in the business of being a mum too!

“Juggling two small businesses, part time work and a toddler, has its challenges, but I have big dreams and I intend to achieve them! Running a small business is rewarding in so many ways and I’ve met a lot of wonderful people along the way who have helped me on my journey!”

Maternity leave is the perfect chance for mums to have a crack at something out of the box and see what happens. For Kelly, it’s the best thing she ever did. And we also think she’s the world’s best juggler, so this week, Kelly is our Inspirational Adelady.

These are her fave places in Adelaide:

Fave wedding venue in SA

With so many amazing wedding venues on offer in SA, it’s becoming a very hard task to love only one! If I have to mention one it would be Glen Ewen Estate in the Adelaide Hills. If you love rustic, this one is for you! The Pulpshed is a magical setting for a wedding, surrounded by beautiful gardens and even a lake! Perfect for a summer or winter wedding, this venue is a definitely a photographer’s delight!

Fave kid-friendly cafe

Coming from the western suburbs we have stunning beaches and equally amazing cafes! The one cafe that I always return too (for tea because i don’t drink coffee….please don’t judge me) is Stir Cafe! The staff are friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. Stir has a lovely enclosed outdoor area and a tub full of toys for the kids. This manages to keep my energetic toddler entertained long enough for me to enjoy a cuppa (without running around like a crazy woman removing everything from his grasp!)

Fave catering company

Did someone say cake? My favourite part of every party! I always call on the lovely Tash from The Sweet Tooth Factory. Her delicious cakes will make you wish you could have the whole thing to yourself. Being a creative person (who can’t bake to save herself) Tash helps bring my ideas to life and always delivers perfection.
