Alright, we’re calling it — Kidz Gigantic Day Out is the most fun your family could possibly have this Easter! Don’t believe me? Let me explain…

The Easter long weekend is such a great time to spend with your family and friends but it’s fair to say that trying to entertain the kids over four days that revolve around chocolate can leave you feeling totally knackered.

A few months ago we got chatting with our pals over at the Adelaide Convention Centre about something that they did last year called Brick-a-laide, and their response was “YOU. JUST. WAIT.”

So we waited as patiently as we could (which, if you know us, is not that patient at all) until we could finally reveal the big surprise, which is…

This year Brick-a-laide is not going to be twice as big. It’s not going to be three times as big. It’s going to be FOUR times as big as last year, with FOUR different zones which all sound totally FOURsome, and to make it even better, it’s also afFOURdable! Yes, we are that excited.

This really is the most amazing Kidz Gigantic Day Out, but we promise that all you big kidz out there will love it too. So sit back and relax, as we tell you a little bit more about what you can expect to find at KIDZ GIGANTIC DAY OUT

Science Lab + Nature Play

From the rumours that I’ve heard, this entire zone is about encouraging kids to find a love of science and nature but honestly, after reading the timetable I’m already sold. Think science crafts (what are thoooose?), robotics (they’ll take over one day so better make friends with them now!), bugs n slugs (I might sit that one out), and DIY slime (I still don’t get the slime craze but I’m excited to learn!)

Your kids can check out the planetarium, or come face-to-face with all their favourite animals — as well as some that they might not have heard about before! Quokka selfie anyone?

Active Kidz Come’n’Try

You know that thing we were saying about Easter weekend turning your kids into sugar-fuelled little rascals? Well, here’s your solution!

The Active Kidz zone is jam-packed with sports and activities – think footy, cricket and a giant NERF challenge – so that the kidz (I mean, kids… I’m getting carried away!) can work off some of that energy while you relax with a cup of coffee and try and GAIN some energy. It’s a win-win situation, really!

Big Rigz

No, this isn’t a workout circuit or a bodybuilding comp, we’re talking HEAVY MACHINERY PEOPLE. There are so many kids with a total fascination for bobcats, fire engines, even army trucks, that Kidz Gigantic Day Out has dedicated a whole zone to just how cool these machines actually are. I’m pretty sure my 20 year old brother would still get excited about this zone so it’s really an area for everyone!

Brick-a-laide

We’ve certainly hyped this up, haven’t we? Luckily it’s 100% worth it, since, in a nutshell Brick-a-laide is a giant Lego Land. Last year over 10,000 people came to check out Brick-a-laide and let me tell you something for nothing — not a single one of them was disappointed. This year there are also lessons in programming Lego robots for the older kids, as well as workshops focussed on “Stop Animation Workshops” – think video creation taught by a guy  who was involved in creating videos for Star Wars and Disney! The 8 year old version of me is hysterically excited right now.

Now, for my mumma and pappa friends out there, here’s some fast facts since NOBODY got time for paragraphs of info…
