Let me tell you about these shoes: They only cost me $8 and look like something a four-year-old would wear. But, they give me joy and they’ve been one of the best things to happen to our business.
That’s right, these shoes have made Adelady bigger and better than we had ever imagined!
We’d just finished a delicious lunch at Whistle and Flute. We were licking our plates clean and about to pay the bill when a tall dark stranger approached us. (I might be exaggerating here) we heard in a thick, Greek accent say, “Hey, nice shoes! Where did you get them from?” To which I replied, “They were $8 from K-mart”. And that’s how it started.
We got chatting about what we do, what they do, yada yada yada. Next minute, we’re in their boardroom at Royal Park, drinking Greek coffee and planning how we can help each other’s local businesses.
G-Fresh is owned and operated by three handsome (they made me say that) Adelads. This SA owned company has herbs, spices and seasonings that every South Aussie should have in their spice cupboard. But, the boys have no idea about social media. And we kinda do! So we helped them and they helped us…
Those strangers have not only become genuine friends; they’ve come on-board as a major partner of Adelady TV season 2! And Adelaide being Adelaide, we found out the boys went to High School and are great friends with another one of our major partners Romeo’s Foodland.
These two local businesses are helping to make our dream come true and we can’t thank them enough!
So, when you’re next out for breakfast, lunch or dinner, don’t sit there playing with your phone. This is a great example where face-to-face conversations and connecting with people you don’t know, will lead to something amazing!
